Bulldogs have pulled out of the race for Metcalf and his asking price is around 1 million dollars. Dragons most likely spot but to get him immediately I wonder if this means they will allow Sua to join us early to free up cap space to get Metcalf immediately. Just seems logical

Let me tell you something Super, without a great jnr system and having the person's in charge to identify and sign the best ones long term, Parramatta will be bottom 4 for the next decade.
The club isn't going to buy itself out of this.
Also, by the way Ryles is talking about those above him, constantly saying things are above his pay grade, tells me that something isn't right between him and what's happening above him.
I could be wrong but its happened a few times
You can talk about why Richardson isn't great, or Anderson, but you make a zero case on why O'neill is still at Parramatta
Write a blog on why mark o'neill should be retained at Parramatta super, then we can debate it, but you won't .im betting
But isn't the burden on you, Chiefy? You've suggested both Richardson and Anderson as models for what the Eels should be doing, but there were huge problems attached to each which you skirt by. What makes Richardson or Anderson good models of GM, given the well-known issues with both (which, again, you mysteriously don't acknowledge)
The burden is on you for sitting on the fence without a case to keep the incumbent
I'm not sitting on the fence, Chiefy. I've asked you R&R Experts to give a solid distinction responsibility and accountability and almost all of you have shirked it in favour of scapegoating. I think it was Captain who stepped up and made the distinction, so kudos there, but most of you are just making crap arguments.
The issue with crap arguments is they don't convince most.
If changing folks minds about mgmt is the goal, I'm saying make good arguments.
I'm not going to put much credit in what you're saying if you can't reasonably try to make good arguments. And I'm suggesting I'm not alone. Most just can't be bothered pushing for good arguments.
If you want a change, fair enough. Separate accountability from responsibility and you'll probably find most examples you're using to hold to account actually fail single responsibility conditions. It seems you and many R&R Experts are failing to grasp the import of that point.
Im saying you start a new blog to support O'neill and the current r and r and put your case forward. If you don't, you have zero argument against the fans who do not favour him.
Now its up to you. We're all waiting
If you don't put anything up, you have no case.
100% agree Chief.....The MON apologists need to put their case forward for the status quo....at present I can only see us eclipsing the sharks (49 year), Rabbits (43 years) to 50 years no premiership I guess........
With many calling the dragons a basket case ....they are at the very least making a go of it .....why have we not had a crack at Burton or Farnsworth or any of the forwards at Penrith ....or locked up our emerging talent .....no we have fucking radio silence and a journey man from the cows ......well Ill hold off until November 30
enough is enough and this "above my pay grade shhhtick" come on Ryles ....
They won't because they have nothing to put forward apart from some obscure vested interest to keep the current regime there as long as possible.
Daz is right in what he is saying and he has no burdon to carry because he hasn't made a case for MON's demise.
PG make's his point like you but in neither case do you have any idea what may have happened or attempted to happen in getting a suitable replacement for MON.
Lets assume at present and without knowledge they cannot find a suitable replacement. i.e. the Richardson and Anderson arguments are subjective and maybe both were approached and they said no!
We then go back to a discussion that MON does what he is empowered to do and as such bare's no critique. I have been accused of being an apologist for MON but if you read or more the point took any notice I said he has to go because his credability is now awash!
That doesn't mean you throw him out when you need to keep the bathwater?
My choice for GM Football is Cheika with the coach reporting through him, a wonderful opportunity as I am nearly positive that Ryles would work under him without being seen as undermined....after all we all agree no one knows what MON's actual accountability is. Appoint Cheika there will be no questions.
The problem with Cheika is not money but the fact that he maybe reluckant to tolerate the type of processes that the constituionally driven Eels have, plus maybe some hidden desire to be a coach rather than a General Manager, keep in mind he is working with Robinson and underneath Politis....my thinking is that he would not want to be an understudy for long and Politis will appoint him within this or next season.
PS it maybe that Robinson maybe the Head Of Football (not coach) that Parra is looking for. I like the knowledge and mentality that could come with a Roosters Driven contact!!
Chief, the premise of scapegoating is to isolate one person (or social category, like 'immigrant') for critique, lodging what is distributed (sometimes no) responsibility in that one person or category, and blame them for a larger series of effects. Once that scapegoating premise is accepted, it's all about the one person or the one social category.
So, no, I don't need a blog all about MON. Because I don't accept your premise.
And lest it go unsaid, if you can't see the logic of denying I need to run a blog all about MON, to fulfil the burden of critiquing your scapegoating, then you're simply not displaying enough logical thinking to give your scapegoating any credibility.
isnt anderson a talent scout not a gm daz?
