Metcalf Dragons bound.

Bulldogs have pulled out of the race for Metcalf and his asking price is around 1 million dollars. Dragons most likely spot but to get him immediately I wonder if this means they will allow Sua to join us early to free up cap space to get Metcalf immediately. Just seems logical

            • Issues with Richardson were pointed out. Galvin and Luia were lost under his watch or under eye conditions of contracts he made, for instance.

If we can critique MON for Brown's get our clauses then Richardson is on the hook for same. What do you make of that?

              • Daz, quick question...if we leave MON plodding along (I mean, no-one would say that he is crushing it, right?) when would be the appropriaye time to shuffle him along? 10yrs? 15? but won't it just be more scapegoating then? Or must we wait for an egregious "fuck-up for the ages" before moving him on?

The time feels up for him so folks are gonna come at him, unfairly or not.

Shake it up a bit. Punt him now. It's for the best. What's the worst that can happen, he doesn't seem to do a lot. Retaining MON feels political. I would bet that he is a happy loyal lapdog....Goodboy Mark.....who's a goodboy

            • Personally if I'm replacing MON I'm chasing Braith Anasta. I believe he has the gravitas, respect and pull that we need to get things done

              • AE, i actually do not mind that pick. Being close to Ryles if a spot was to open up is a realistic option.

              • I doubt he would uproot his entire professional life to be our GM. I can't think of a single realistic reason why this would happen. He seems happy with his life as is.

                • he could still work at fox just like gus at 9

                • Maybe, maybe not. It could just be the challenge he's looking for. Having been a manager he's had a great feel for negotiation. He also knows what a successful football club looks like. He also has a key ingredient that we haven't had since Denis Fitzgerald..... Gravitas

                • We have mucho dinero and Braith is all about the lucre.

I like the idea. Drive the proverbial dumptruck full of cash around to his house and see what happens.

          • Daz, is your name really Prof Mark? (you can tell me I'm reeely good at secrets)

          • Daz in all respect you solely blame Ando for that? I think it was also about the head of the board too.....and tbh it was 10 yrs back; and he has worked with some decent clubs (Easts). But fair enough.....

"Long term contracts are too risky with props. It's very rare to see a prop at the top of his game year after year. Parra were right to not go the extra year on this occasion. I don't disagree sometimes you have to pay a bit extra to get the deal…"

"Yes, good points PG....someone like French has become more of power player based on his speed that he always had and then his filling out. Nikorama falls into that category as well and I am sure there are a number of others some can think up."
