I didn't watch the whole game because I don't like either team, although I was interested in the attack of Melbourne to beat Manly. Here are my observations;
- Melbourne made turbo move when they kicked to him i.e. left side of the field towards the post on more than one occasion
- Melbourne ran at the edges early to tire the big Manly forwards (also to target Cherry and Foz)
- Melbourne also ran more plays at Cherry close to the line (Olam scored)
- Jerome Hughes runs a lot early which sets up for the whole runners during the game and runs the ball again later in the game when the edge forwards are tired.
- Melbourne are good whole runners and smart with their block plays.
- Melbourne always have someone there in support.
- Melbourne spread the ball early in the game.
Manly did happen to score on the edge around Melbourne, so even the best defensive systems can fail when the the winger doesn't mark the opposite winger and rushes in.
Not like Parramatta I bet it won't happen again next week though.
It's only my opinion.
Have a great Sunday!

It was a high quality game. It makes us look even more like a reserve grade bush team. Manly are no mugs, they were right in this game. Melbourne had some luck, but played a touch better. Manly will belt us.
It was a good game. The Storm play with such intensity and always 'eyes up'. It's unbelievable how fit they are and everyone knows their role to perfection.
My observation is that at no time this season were Parra at the standard at which this game was played.
Half of the players in both teams are essentially nobodies of the game, however they perform frequently at levels rarely seen by players at Parra. Look at Remius Smith for example. At the Dogs he was an ok player, at the Storm he is playing at a much higher level than at anytime previous.
Parra's woes are not due to a lack of talent or desire from the players. It as a result of terrible preparation and a substandard club culture.
100%. We are not lacking in talent ! Our roster is just as good as Sea Eagles roster, probably better man for man but Dessie is light years in front of BA as a coach.
Im sorry, it's just the truth.
Some here, can't handle the truth!
All about perspective. If Turbo played for the Eels, I am sure B.A would coach him into submission and mediocrity.
If Turbo played for us, BA would have him chasing the collision in attack, rather than chasing the gaps.
Tom is a good player but there are some pretty average players in that team that are killing it.
Anyway Dessies coaching record speaks for itself.
most of his teams were operating on shoestring budgets and primitive facilities. Look at a Brookie - it's a rat hole.
In fact if I could wave a magic wand I would have Dessie as the coach at the Eels before anyone.
This.
The Storm can put any player into their well oiled machine.
Ryan Morgan, Chayse Blair, Gennings, Tep could even break into their run on side.
EFFF THE STORM
