Burton would be a great 6 to have, but there's no doubt we'd have to get into a bidding war to win his signature. As soon as that happens the move loses appeal for me because he's not worth the salary Bulldogs had to pay to bring him over from the Panthers. Bears will have a good crack at him for sure.
Would his playing style compliment Mitch's? I'm not so sure, we probably want a running 5/8 threat rather than a big boot.
I think with Lorenzo's age and potential, it's worth us holding out for the year and not rushing it.
Lorenzo is a generational talent. In both trials he barely ran the ball. Once he gets that out of the bag, you will see how lethal a talent he is. He has great footwork and a fantastic initial 30 metres in him. I really look forward to watching him go, We have been watching from the stands etc. We saw how hard it is to defend a 5/8 with instincts and vision in his game. He will literally destroy a retreating defensive line and plays eyes up footy as good as any kid comparable to him at 18/19.
was not a good day for HM and SG Ball. The ref was horrendous in both games. HM losing the lead with the countless penalties and 6 agains.
SG Ball bombed how many tries and dropped how many balls? Petrus and Talagi (to win the game) both drop the ball over the line. Bloomfield bombed 2 tries. One instead of drawing and pass he gets tackled into touch and second just a pure drop which a Steeler picked up and ran the field. I know the team have plenty of injuries including Koina hand injury during the game but jeez they let one slip today. I have never ever seen so many scrums being redone in a game. Holy!!! that ref was something else.
It is a no brainer from me, in my opinion Moses has the 2nd best long kicking game in the competition, he can really turn an average set into a good one with a decent kick, he essentially bosses the game in terms of territory and control.
Burton is the best, he kicks it 10-20m further than Moses and can turn a very average set into a very good set.
With Moses being 31, we need to have one eye on the future and have a replacement for his long kicking game.
I see it differently Poppa, Pevitt who we've just pinched from the Alice Spring Deserters will be asset in the front row for us and is faster than Timmy Mannah!
"Yes how good would a worst 17 be lol. You can absolutely bet that it would be full of brad arthur purchases - think Issac lumilumi, Zack Cini, Werimu Greig, Momosia, joey Lussick, Kane Evans, Jack Murchie, and the list could go on forever "

I'm guessing they see Lorenzo as our future 6. I love to see him as our left centre though

He would work well with mitch. We would have the two best kickers in the game

Burton being 25 is perfect for us !
As a centre on centre money, Yes every day of the week.
I think the club are convinced Young gun Lorenzo will be our future 5/8.
Pass, Matt Burton would be a step backwards. Not a match-winner and too slow / immobile.
Burton would be a magnificent pick up. He can play anywhere in the backline and knows all about handling pressure in big matches. He is not slow.....
Richard, if you are worried about Burton being too slow.....you have a revelation coming when you see Pevitt play!
