Throw in Pezet as a bridge for Lorenzo who needs a year to stand the physical nature of 1st grade we a real threat . We are using Pezet as much he is using us

How is this Ryles doing a favour to Melbourne? Jonah is going to Brisbane after right?
I am weirded out by this signing, but 1) were people so sure Joash is our 6 next year? Ryles made it clear a few times he still wasn't impressed. 2) It's basically signing a player for 1 year, as if we are not sure of him. Most people are angry because he's signed with Brisbane after, if he just signs the one year with us, people would be OK.
All this cuckold bullshit is just that. Let's just shut off our pathways cause quite a few of them will sign somewhere else.
What exactly is the big worry? Losing Joash? Has Joash proven himself as a key 5/8? Is he gonna be our fullback?
I think Ryles rates Pezet as a good half but nothing more, enough to raise our floor. While giving Talataina and/or Joash a year to nail down the 6 for 2027 or even gives us the chance to sign another 6.
I may be in the minority but i dont think the gap between Joash and Pezet as a 6 is a big as people make out. If you look at Joash's last 2 games (the only games where he played next to Mitch) he played really well. His defensive reads were really good and his edge shut down alot of the roosters and warriors attack, his run game was dangerous and he did a good job executing our shifts. Dont forget hes a FB that was thrust into 6 mid season with no pre season in the position. Pezet's best ability is his kicking game which isnt something we lack with Moses in the team and isnt a major role of a traditional 6.
I am with you SB. Pezet was playing in a Storm system which we know many players fail out off. Also Storm are obviously an elite team. Give Papalii a pre-season at 6 and see what he can do if we can only get Pezet for 1 year. At least Papalii is a chance of being a long term eels player.
Most of all EA, Joash plays with supreme ticker. Wants to be part of a team and be a better player for the team.
Pezet had some very strong games towards the end of the season when replacing Hughes. But he could end up being the next Billy Rogers.

Papalii is an eels fan as a kid and loves the club. He wants to improve and for the club to do well. Pezet is just coming here to use us and then fuck off to broncos. Not the culture you want at a rebuilding club.
Agree mate. The major selling point of Pezet was as a sucessor to Moses. A 1 year deal wipes that out. He is a development player himself, its not like getting a finished product like Munster for a year. I dont think there has been an eels recruitment decision that has pissed me off more than this lol

Exactly, he held his own in defence and his ball playing was already better the Drowns. They also mentioned he was carrying an injury. A good preseason and he could easily have stepped up.
Plus he actually wants to be here. I heard all year that that was very important.
Pezet is a strong kicker but we already have that covered.
Here's the most disappointing part: we have known Dylan Brown was leaving since before our season started and we appear no closer to finding a replacement.
8 months have passed. What have MON and co been doing?
If Pezet on a 1 year loan and then having no 6 right when new clubs are entering the competition at the worst possible time to recruit a half is the plan, it's the worst plan in existence.
We have had a full season to get a deal done and this is where we landed.
It's absolutely shameful.
