I'll start
The Titanic, 1912
On April 10, 1912 the luxury liner claimed to be "practically unsinkable" set sail for the first time from Southampton to New York. On April 14 shortly before midnight the Titanic hit an iceberg and 2 hours and 40 minutes later sank. Of the 2,223 people on board, only 706 survived and 1,517 lost their lives. If the ship had been filled to capacity, hundreds more would have died. Insufficient lifeboats played a major role in the majority of deaths.

Eels v Dog 1998 grand final qualifier
Went to it with my bulldog supporter brother and my leg locked up after the extra time - he had to help me walk out Weekend at Bernies style.
Humiliated twice, once by the dogs and then by a supporters.
That game still angers me.
09 helped but wasn't good enough to help me forget.
Yep I was at the game as well. Still wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat with the bulldogs chant ringing in my ears. Although the 2009 grand final qualifier did erase some of that pain.
