The Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce that Maika Sivo will remain with the Eels until the end of the 2023 NRL season after exercising his contract option.
Making his debut for the Eels in 2019, Maika had an incredible season in which he won the Dally M award for Top Try Scorer.
Mark O’Neill, Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football said, “Maika is incredibly powerful, he can score tries from seemingly impossible positions, and we’re very happy he has extended his time with us.”
Maika had played 68 NRL games until his 2021 season was cut short with a serious knee injury, however he is on the road to recovery and is expected to make a return in the coming weeks.

Seems like every player signed has an option in his favor.
Need to get rid of this option bulldust
Yep, its a total joke Chiefy, very poor management.
Sivo is just about cooked, his pace has gone and he's very predictable, he's not the player he was and he's taking up way too much cap for a winger, he needed to be gone last year.
I note he looks even more built atm, which will slkow him down even more, he needed to lose 5kg not put on more muscle.
Great news yet again lurker you can't make this stuff up.makes sundays loss a little better.
Great news, stability for one more year at least.
I'm not convinced he will make the side?
You don't think one of two fit, NRL wingers won't play in the side? Dunster will be lucky to be back by the start of next season and our only other option is either Waqa Blake or Sean Russell.
As far as I'm concerned Sivo comes straight back into the 1st grade squad to replace Simonsson.
At least Sivo can score a try from 5 metres out with only 1 defender in front of him.
Sivo plays left wing, Simonsson right. Also Russell is not even in the side over Perham, would you drop Simonsson before Perham?
The plan all along was for Dunster and Simonsson until Sivo is back then sort it out based on form.
Russell is further along in his rehabilitation and will be back before Sivo therefore he takes Perham's spot.
Once Sivo is good to go he comes in for Simonsson. At that point, Russell moves to the right wing and Sivo goes left.
As far as I'm concerned, Russell offered more in the one game he played than Simonsson has in all the games he has played.
