So what does everyone think of the Magic Round concept?
I've just watched most of the Titans-Sharks game. Personally I'm struggling to see the benefit of it. Not one game of NRL in Sydney for the whole weekend. And realistically only 3 games, maybe 4, have significance being played in Brisbane. Broncos, Titans and Cowboys make sense, and to a lesser degree Storm as they source a lot of players from Queensland.
I'd also like to know how the ticketing works. If you buy a ticket for Saturday, does that get you all three games?
Keen to hear everyones thoughts.

Yeah it’s pretty shit but think about it every week there’s multiple games in Sydney. And wah tickets per day get you too all the games so Saturday tickets get you 3 games.
Bem, the ground will be fine. The SFS and Homebush have held double headers or multiple grades on consecutive nights with no complaints. They have also done this in the UK for years and the ground was fine. Another example was the 9s and it held up fine on a surface inferior to Suncorp.
A bit further back during the rugby world cup years ago, Suncorp was used multiple times in 1 weekend and it was fine. Rugby digs up the ground a lot worse with scrums then NRL so don't see the condition being an issue.
I disagree FM. I think the field will be fucked by Sunday arvo. I guess time will tell.
As long as it is rock solid for us I don't care. The rain tonight might screw it up if it gets heavy.
LOL it pissed down where I live in brisbane so might backtrack my comment. There wasn't any rain expected over weekend however it should drain alright if the weather fine tomorrow.
I didn't watch the end of broncos/Manly game anyone see if they ripped up the ground much.
Good for all footy fans in Brisbane who only get see their team once a year unless they want to head down to gold coast or interstate, which isn't really possible for some of the older fans or those with big families or kids. Without a full home and away season some fans don't even get chance see their team in Brisbane each year or for number of years.
Also it being treated as festival of footy. Events outside stadium and in the city. I'm looking forward to Saturdays triple header where Caxton st will be party central and have ticket for the games where it will be decent crowd
1, 2, 3 or even 4 day passes were available in different categories so I expect some fans might be in the area and check out game or 2 then hit the pubs. Was pretty pricey but Suncorp usually is. Was $100 sit behind post for Saturday for 3 games in eels supporter bay and get a flag with admission. As I said pricey however mates are newie and bulldog fans so gonna watch their game as well on Saturday.
$135 to sit along the sideline between the players entrances, got lucky with the allocation.
I could have got better seats and value wasn't to bad, but mates were in Newcastle bay which right next to the eels so just paid the extra. I wonder how strict they will be with people sitting in different areas. Obviously not everyone going sit and watch 3 games so should be spare seats around.
There should be more games on free to air then. Us Sydneysiders have no access to any footy games locally. They should show Saturday’s game on 9.
Fair point
