  • With new teams coming in, this unlikely union shit could be enough of a perfect storm to lower the standard of NRL and increase the value of average players.

Oh well, the refs and horse boy are messing with the game now, they will just meddle more to restore some mystical "entertainment value"

If it gets off the ground, i won't watch it. I don't give a shit about yawnion

    • Hope it doesn't even get off the ground, sounds like a shit show

  • Hopefully it will be another flop like Super League. I heard somewhere that it's not even proper union, apparently it's gonna be something between union and league....something like union with a tackle count.

    • Sounds like rubbish, can't blame the players for taking insane money but while it's on offer

  • Funny how it's always a Eels player that gets targeted by Union. Semi comes to mind. But yet Coates, Burton all get left alone. So what I'm saying is these other players must be on a bigger pay packet than it's actually being shown.

    • Lot of players being targeted probably more that haven't been named but also sounds like Zach is interested in the extra money. Bit of a wait and see I think

    • Good point Analyst

    • The question really should be why aren't we targeting guys like Semi Radradra and alike.

Why are Melbourne Roosters Dogs and alike setting up partnerships and scouting rugby talent for certain positions that's what I've asked for years.

Theres nothing stopping the nrl sides head hunting the same talent from other countries and codes much like this rugby comp hunting the NRLs talent. The islands and the world rugby 7s circuit are a breeding ground for speed and outside backs there's a plethora of talent there why if we aren't already looking to widen our gaze and steal that talent because it's all there if we are willing to look.

      • Yeah Coryn, they are coming after our players because the depth of proper talent in union is so bigly....

In other news, A guy from Aotearoa says something-something Rugby Union

        • There's plenty there you just have to get in at young age.

HS first 15 rugby here is still a breeding ground loaded with talent it's where Melbourne found NAS.

I don't even want to talk about the islands as that's where I'd go especially for outside backs.Radradra there's a lot like him just waiting for an opportunity.

Man I saw this first hand in the early 2000s we used to go to a village 7s tournament up there in Fiji man eye opening just pure athletes with ball skills. They even play touch different up there it's none of this 6 touches stuff it's one touch and if you do nothing with it hand it over. There just a different breed those blokes when it comes to footy.

"Will be interesting to see how Iongi at #6 and Papalii at #1 goes, if that's in fact what Ryles has in store. IF it plays out that way, does that suggest Ryles wants to trial as many at #6 as he can? That motive has to be part of dropping Hawkins…"
