    • Would love Manu but he's lost to Union. Hes a better version of Lomax 😂

  • And they think that throwing ridiculous amounts of money at League players will make fans watch that boring Union game? They really are delusional.

  • Could this be similar to Saudi league in Soccer? Every man and their dog went there years ago, it was said to be a threat to EPL and world soccer. Now most want out of there.

    • Seems like it's just a money grab sort of thing, no one is going to watch that garbage competition

      • I am wondering if it is going to be something players go to in off season, like IPL in cricket.

  • I love the media always sniffing for a story to bring us down ...yes this is a possibility but so are a LOT of players in the NRL.....if it happens it happens when Semi left we survived .....if he goes to play this tin pot comp then so be it

  • It's some ex pommie rugby player who has hit up sport investment companies from all different sports and the Saudis so money doesn't seem to be an issue but the financial backers haven't confirmed their investment or interest yet, it is all speculation and empty promises.

Their is no website, schedule, list of teams, sponsors, confirmed coaches, rules to make it more exciting then regular rugby which was 1 of original selling points.  Basically someone had an idea, used media to hype it, and said there is financial backing then got some greedy player managers to take the bait.

They are hoping momentum and interest could lead to it getting up and no doubt some NRL player managers have taken the bait thinking a big pay day is around the corner which they promise their players.

The issue R360 has is the season clashes with the southern hemisphere international calendar so the best Australian, NZ, South African and South American players contracted to their country or wanting to play international footy including the upcoming world cup won't sign.

Once again a world cup is around the corner so who will step outside their national rugby body saying they signed with a rebel comp just before a world cup.

It is smoke and mirrors and obviously some people have been paid up front to spruik it, but it will crash and burn in the near future before it even gets off the ground despite what some who trying to make it out to be a massive threat.

  • So they'll have to be 'touring', being away from family for 3-4 months. Living in hotel rooms, out of a suitcase and play in empty stadiums? Where's your fan base? It'll be like a roaming circus with no die hard fans.

It will only attract certain types of players, mainly young ones with little family commitments. It's not a career, it's more a 1-2 year cash grab. No player will commit longer than that, their personal situation will eventually change, family decision will come into it.

If you look deeper, it's a load of crap and it is not a threat to the NRL. For a team sport, it won't work. The novelty will wear off. Players won't even know each other, it will be FIFO workers, new faces every year. No camaraderie.

  • Newcastle fans are hoping Dylan Brown gets chased by this Yawnion mob.
