Lomax Gone

Just listening to Braith Anasta who has stated that Lomax won't be playing with Parra in 2026 and that's he's basically signed with Rugby Union. Anasta reckons he will not play NRL again and will likely move to UK to prepare for the October start of his Union deal. Hope this isn't correct but it wouldn't surprise me. Anasta is normally reasonably accurate. So Eels need a new winger for 26 onwards

            • Regarding Bloomfield just read above. Bamblett is a fullback. He can play 6 but I believe he is much better at 1. Rokusuka is purely a winger. Lot of work needed on his defence. Alamadine went backwards this season so not sure if he can kick on and make the NRL.

              • I know Bamblett is a 1 and 6 but could he be a Centre or Winger? Would you see Johansson as a loss?

I wont ask about Farrugia as you have stated you do not rate him at all. Though i feel many are sleeping on Richie Penisini. Could be a class Winger.

                • Nah I dont see Bamblett as a centre or winger. I don't think Johanssonis a big loss. No gurantee he makes the NRL.

              • Do we have anything close in our back 5 development in the same talent planet as Casey Maclean ?

                • Short answer is no. Casey was a freak who went from Matt's directly to flegg/nsw cup. Outside backs are our weakest position with the only player that I would say it an exciting talent is Bloomfield however as EA said he had an underwhelming 2025

                  • Sorovi in the one game he played passed the eye test for sure. Really hope he gets an injury free year in SG ball. 18 years old next year. I recon he could be like Semi. But very small sample size I have seen of him.

          • I still can't find any article regarding Andes. Could you post the link please

            • I saw Ethan Lee Chalk from Zero tackle posted it. It's on a many fan page as well. I don't know about you EA but I wasn't overly impressed with him despite his rep credentials. Athletic but seemed to struggle with his hands and reads. I was always perplexed how he made rep teams

              • Just found it thanks. Yea don't think it's a big loss especially since we have Richie who is similar to him. Lacks a yard of pace too

Just hope Bloomfield and Sorovi really develop into guns. Even Cobi had a great year despite not being able to crack the St Patties team.

                • I also losing him helps the coaching staff make a decision fitting our outside backs into the SG ball side for next year

                  1. Bamblett
                  2. Roksuka
                  3. Bloomfield
                  4. Howlett
                  5. Sorovi

Davis, Moala, Cobi somehow need to be in the team too. Perhaps start a couple of boys in JF since their outside backs are shit
