Well frak me, the Eels cannot take a frikkin' trick. I guess everyone knows NOT to believe a word Lomax says nor that of his manager Clinton Schifcofske says.
Lomax had said at the Dally M's that he is loving his time at the Eels and contracted so, yeah, nothing to see. Quick google shows Lomax also loved the Dragons. Apparently.
Schifcofske even issued a 'categorical' assurance the players he managed would not berak a contract to defect:
- "I can categorically tell you if something happened, even going to another club, none of my players would ever break a contract" (1st October media article).
Does the Eels issuing an "immediaste release" mean Lomax could skirt the threatened 10-year ban for "breaking a contract" to defect to R360? Is Lomax breaking a contract if the club releases him? Lawyers come on down!
This news made me so depressed lmao. Like everytime we have an elite combos or something brewing someone throws a spanner in and we never recover from it.
You can read the Daily Mail article where Lomax's manager (Clinton Schifscofske) is interviewed, on 1 October 2025, and uses very obvious legalise to say the players he is managing will not go to R360 while contracted. Paywalled but available here via archive.md:
I mean, you judge for yourself how much BS good old Clinton is coming out with here:
“Apparently Zac Lomax is going but he has a binding contract with Parramatta.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s Parramatta, Manly, French rugby or whoever. He has a contract with the Eels, so until that changes, it’s poor to suggest he is going to break his contract.
I think this will be followed by some good news. I think the reason this has taken a while to be finally confirmed is Ryles has been doing some behind the scenes cooking, and maybe we will like what gets dished up, fingers crossed.

Ever since we caught wind of this and that Parra was ok with it, it was going to happen. I assume Ryles has something up his sleeve as MON would probably not and probably wears singlets.
Next few weeks or so could be interesting, and lets not forget the NRL are diminishing the talent with these two new teams....

Good 'ol former-Eel Schifcofske is apparenrly the manger for Papenhagendaz and Gray, both linked to R360 too: FoxLeague story about tosser Schifcofske

Really trying not to ask Randette for a Lomax voodoo doll and the knitting needle

Hope you're right.

Would you be surprised if there wasn't?
Tbh, I wouldn't be, in fact I am expecting to be disappointed yet again.
