    • Sadly nostradamus is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

    • Why do you always post that source? He's never right and you still insist on posting him

      • It's definitely getting louder around the nrl that the eels are set on him. Lomax leaving creates extra cap space. Let's see if they get it over the line. But for sure the eels are targeting keon

  • Seriously he was always going to go, no one can begrudge him of the money he's gonna make, it just so happens unfortunately he plays for Parra and is crucial to the team.

  • The main thing Lomax offered was work rate and metres.

Ryles has to kick Penisini up the arse and tell him it's his job to get back and take 2nd hit up.  Pennisi is a good ball runner, it is probably his only strength so he can really earn his keep by stepping up and replacing Lomax metres.

I remember great centres like Justin Hodges and Jennings.  They would be back be for the 2nd tackle hit up or a scoot from dummy half.  Hodges regularly made 10 or more metres from dummy half despite other teams knowing he would run.  I think Penisini has the running game to make a lot of metres each game and help our forward pack out

    • Agreed. Just wrote something similar before seeing this.

  • Meh. Now Simonsson will get injured in pre-season.

I am not worried as long as Bailey is back in form and fit. He'll add enough for us not to feel the loss of Zac, and Zac's form was not the best post-origin when we picked form ourselves.

We do need a back up or two in the backs now though.

    • Lomax at his worst is still ten times better than Simonsson at his best.

We could carry Russell in the backline with Lomax there but Simonsson and Russell on the same side would be a complete disaster.

      • Simonsson would be same side as Penisini.

Lomax is better than Bailey clearly but not sure about 10 times.

  • The positive here, Moses back kicking goals. Lomax wasnt great after origin, cost us badly

As for the value of wingers today,  I believe strong yardage wingers have gone past the importance of strike centres. One thing the Eels have had recent success with is finding quality wingers. Both Semi and Sivo come to mind. Send some recruits…"

"That is an issue, most clubs have wingers in development and overloaded with them. Eels just seem to have forwards and halves "
