Some of the points are valid. We'll miss Hayne and stuggle in attack, a team that has relied on him so much the past 6 or 7 years needs time to adjust and adapt. Our whole attack was based around him, also how he organised the defence from the back last year.
Realistically Sandow you just never know, he had a good season last year and he looks determined this year, but you could flip a coin on his form.
Watmough will be the real wild card to what he can bring.
Im still hopefully for a top 8, but its easier to write a team off like the Eels, then tip them to be good.
But with Hayne gone it means we don't have to play a style of attack that relies so heavily on one player. We were virtually the only side this season that employed a middle forward simply to get the ball out wide to Hayne. That limits your attack a lot and with a different style of attack comes a little bit of the unknown.
Hayne's loss will no doubt have a large effect on our set-up. This is a test of BA's tactical ability because he'll have to change our style of play. I think you'll see us play a style of game that uses a lot of changes of angles from our edge back-rowers and plenty of physicality in the middle, much like we did back in 2005. Funnily enough, we didn't have the best fullback in the game in that team either. We had Wade McKinnon, Joel Reddy and Luke Burt. But it was in the forwards where we got the job done. Admittedly our current crop isn't as experienced as the forwards of 2005 but they are bigger and more skillful.
Yep, I agree i think 2015 our edge forwards is our strength. Speedy and Skillful with the ball.
Everyone talks about Hoppa's ball playing ability so he'll now have a chance to prove it. But Hayne's stength, speed for his size and agility is what we're going to miss. Hayne is gone and we need to move on.
Our props are the weakest link for us. We'll just have to see how Fa'aoso and Wicks peform, and see how Junior Paulo and Pauli Pauli step up. They both really dropped off at the end of the season.
2015 will be a very interesting case study. How does a side survive the loss of a truly dominant player?
The easy answer is that without Hayne we will struggle to win a game. This has been the case for the past 4 years or so. Until we see evidence to the contrary I think this is a reasonable assumption.
The Parra fan in me hopes for greater things, a turn around of our playing style and a rejuvenation of our side to be better than the sum of our parts ala Penrith. However until we actually see this, it is merely wishful thinking without any evidence to base it on.
To state categorically that the Hayne loss will have minimal impact or that we will actually improve without him is just Unicorn thinking. I believe we will struggle big time over the course of the entire 26 rounds with a few exceptions......I hope I'm wrong.
Nailed it perfectly Muttman, if people think we can just totally change our style of play after losing the best player in the game and not suffer for it they are in fantasy land. If our pack stands up they will keep us in the game but I really think we lack the creative players to make us a contender. Once again there will be a lot of pressure for our young blokes to step up, jury is also out on our halves.
"Thanks for the update.
Aside from the analytics learnings you mentioned, is there any high-level data you could share on where most site visitors are logging in from? Nothing too intrusive. Just broad insights like whether the majority are coming…"
"Pezet had 3 runs, 5 kicks, 2 errors, and 3 try assists. Let's be frank, two of his try assists were fluke kick/regather efforts by others and his try a fluke kick/regather by himself. Ryles played possum about what he has to work on in the press…"

I read that and it's a piece of crap. Writing the entire season off because of one player, whilst basically paying no attention to our recruitment.

My draw card is Kenny Edwards!
