Storm chairman Matt Tripp took aim at Parramatta for what he saw as deliberately taking the dispute public, accusing the club of running to the media to control the narrative around the Zac Lomax saga. Tripp suggested the Eels chose headlines over resolution, portraying Lomax and Melbourne as acting in bad faith while ignoring the broader context — including the fact Parramatta would have gained adequate compensation for a player who had already vacated the club.

Tripp said Melbourne attempted to handle the matter quietly and professionally, offering compensation to avoid escalation, only for Parramatta to harden its stance and air the issue publicly. In his view, the decision to brief the media and frame the Storm as "villains" was unnecessary and misleading, turning a solvable contractual dispute into a drawn-out public fight that Parramatta itself helped inflame.

  • Give us our premiership you stole!

  • Adequate compensation my arse. Parra were being strong armed by Melbourne and the NRL, we simply strong armed back. Cry me a river you flog

  • Boo farkin hoooooo

  • What a cooked response. Appreciate that he's losing the PR battle with almost every fan on this matter and he has to try and change the framing of how it's looking, but I hope he gets flogged for even suggestion Parra is trying to be unreasonable on this...

    Respectfully... GFY

  • It's all in the name. His Trippin.

Poor old hard done by Storm, finally called out and they melt, it's like running home to mummy.  "The big bad Eels are telling people the truth and serving subpoenas on us for court.".

'Playbook 101 when it's going against you. Publicly declare the opposition are being unprofessional. Sorry "Trippin" but we've grown a backbone and are now sitting at the big boys table, take your strategy to pick on a minnow and shove it. The Eels have arrived.

Go hard Jim Sarantinos and Mathew Beach, the entire fanbase are behind you.

  • Oh i think old boy accidently forgot they told Ryles to join them from roosters as Bellamy was retiring and they were going to give Ryles the head coash role... But then they screwed Ryles over and extended Bellamy. Whoopsie!

    • They've also been holding Pezet wishart Sua in nsw cup for years when they should have been playing first grade for years. Classic storm

  • Given how generally piss weak and conservative the eels are as a club, we must have some almighty juicy stuff on the storm to take this to court...

  • Eels have done everything correctly and have followed the contract stipulations. Storm can't leak or do anything because eels haven't done anything wrong. 🤣 if the shoe was on the other foot can be sure Melbourne would be doing the same

  • What a sooky little b*tch. Yea, give Parra a stick of chewed gum and an IOU while Storm get a Rep Quality winger. Piss off.
