Kelma 3 weeks for crusher.

Luckily we have a host of players returning next round including Moretti Tuaviti Bailey so Williams can move to the edge or Samrani.

      • Im sure we'll be fine. We'll keep signing more depth players until we have so many we're just a depth squad that other teams use for warm up and practice matches

No mention of the STG player who hit Iongi with the crusher, is there?

        • Throwing depth players in at the deep-end reads like it should work good, but...

      • You can see as soon as Kelma realised he had JDB in that awkward crusher position, he let go immediately. There was no intent. I'm not saying he should get off completely, but definitely not 3 weeks.

  • Deadset joke. It was clearly accidental due to De Belin turning his back to the opposition.

Not sure how Flanagan escaped suspension. He was a bit late and Iongi was already on the ground. There was no need to land on his his head.

If the NRL are serious about stamping out crusher tackles maybe they need to stop players turning their backs to the defence in an attempt to off load. It is the main reason it happens.

    • 100% no intent in it just fell into it but that's the nrl these days.

  • It's just another example of NRL corruption at its finest

  • We're roll over and take it again. We never want to rock the boat when it comes to the NRL. We're the good little boys of the sport eager to please the school teacher. No wonder they are not scared of us at all.
No way Gould would accept this quietly if it was Bulldogs. He'd have his say in the press, the NRL would come out and say they're 'investigating the comments' but they wouldn't do anything about it. And the Dogs players magically get the rub of the green on and off the field. It's not a coincidence.

    • Given the supposed 'financial health' of the club, you'd think $20K fine for ripping into the refs/MRC would be worth it, if not just to bring it to light.

Truth is, they cant have a rookie coach upstage their former clubs and like what has been said before, it isnt in the interest for Eels to be top performers as eels fans will spend money regardless

    • Is it because our FO executives do not have any footy knowledge that they just accept what was dealt by the MRC to their players? Are they just looking at going to the judiciary an unnecessary expense that will reduce their cash flow?

      • Highly probable. Fines that the club is liable for would definitely impact a profit/loss statement. Its all about the $$

The only way we as fans can make our voices heard is through the same way, stop spending money. Maybe then the club might focus on bringing the team up from the cellar and providing actual value to fans as opposed to the BS social content being driven down our throats
