Keating feeling for brother as Eels soar

"Parramatta hooker Matthew Keating is feeling for his younger brother Kris who has missed out on the Eels' spectacular charge to the NRL preliminary finals through injury.Matthew says Kris has been doing it tough at times and he's even suggested his parents avoid talking footy in front of him because he can see his sibling's personal disappointment.Halfback Kris, 20, is recuperating from a broken jaw and has only been able to watch from sidelines as the Eels resurrected their wobbly season with nine victories from their last 10 games to be within two wins of the premiership crown..."*SIGH* Ah the quality of reporting come finals time goes down about three notches at finals time. Only about 2 months off the pace with this injury.http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-news-sport/keating-feeling-for-brother-as-eels-soar-20090922-fzn0.html

  • we wouldnt be here with him sorry kris maybe next year
    • I definitely do not agree with that, he's a great player and there's every chance we could have been going better all year with him, but we'll never know.
      • KK is Hayne compared to Robbo!
    • COMPLETELY AGREE! ROBSON the 7 to take us to premiership heaven!
  • i have to disagree. ok jeff robson has done an admirable job but i still think kris keating is a better player
    • Keating provides a style of play
  • gotta feel for KK.

he is the much better player than robbo, but he will have to wait till round 1 2010.

    sorry eels4life09.....cant agree with ya
  • dan ref and hayne 88 how can you say he is a better player than robson, he's only played a handful of games, yeah did some good things but come on, look how robson has guided the team around and the park and his defence has been second to none and the way he took over from when morts got injured was brilliant, give the guy some credit, KK might end up being a better player in the long run but until he proves himself lets give robson some respect that he deserves.
  • Now im a big fan of robbo, he's been crucial in our run to the finals and he's achieved alot this season.. but earlier on, when KK came off the bench to replace robson our attack improved immensely. each match it became clear that KK was our man, and robbo was dropped back to reserve grade. I reckon at this point KK had proved himself and was developing rapidly, whereas robsons development into a 1st grader has only come in KK's absence. I have no doubt robson deserves our respect, and even if KK could play right now, i'd still have robbo leading us around. but purely in terms of football, KK runs rings around him.
  • This story broke my heart this morning.

Prior to injury, KK was in form and was trying to lead around a team who was not making metres, was down on confidence, form, suffering from the loss of Finch (which was a shock at the time) and the disturbance of League club elections. KK, prior to injury was doing so well and I was so disappointed for him to be injured twice this season. You have to feel for him and I really hope he has a magic year next year and does not continue to suffer form slumps as a result of his injury.

Unfortunately this is the reality of football and Jeff Robson has stepped up to the task wonderfully. For a man who has never really been given a shot and was bagged mercilessly to have improved as much as he has is a credit to him. He needs a big round of applause and I am so pleased that the club he loves, Parramatta, is now embracing him as one of their heroes!

The only negative thing is that nothing rhymes with Robson, Robbo or Jeff! Sign wise, he is IMPOSSIBLE.
