No-one on that bench that can play edge, either the 2nd hooker or moretti need to make way for an edge forward that can also play middle.Â
Moretti has played backrow in the low grades and Hopgood can play there too. But yea probably still want an edge player.
Personally, if you give Smith another pre-season there is a good chance he can play 80min next year consistently. The team should also get better working in defence and hopefully give away less penalties and less errors. Hopefully that reduces Smith workload so he can play 80min each week. He already is extremely fit. Got Walker on the bench if there for any other concerns. I think Smith is good enough to be our first choice 9 next year as long as we go to the market to buy a back up.
This would leave one bench spot open to help provide cover. zMatto, Samrani, Tuilagi, Doorey, Guyme, Latu or someone we recurit can fight for that spot.

Williams is needed for our go forward, glaring hole in the roster is the right edge, I think Will Latu will be the answer in 2026
In what I've seen with Williams on the right edge he's an absolute weapon there. Could be one of the best edge players in the comp given his speed, size and footwork. We're wasting him playing middle. Recruit some middles to do a job but Williams on the right could be devastating.Â

He had a very good game on the weekend. He has plenty of upside. As mutt has said I alsowould like jack on the other edge. Hopefully de belin can play middle and we get Tino or Carrington.Â
Good news. He's young, has great improvement left in him and would have been on the radar for the Bears.Â
Similar to what the Storm have done with no names like Blore and Leoreo, Kautoga certainly has great upside with his skills and strength already on show.
