Just heard on triple M whisper that Eels and Dragons are monitoring the Luke Metcalf situation at the warriors, as their keen to re sign Cht and Tanah Boyd. Would you take him? It does show that at the moment if their is an elite half on the market the Eels might try and get him if they stop screwing around.

    • I missed him the moment the knights game finished last year.

  • I swear us supporters are suffering from this. There is just no way in a championship team that more then half our squad are good enough. And if we are real serious then probably not even that many!

    • You said it!! If Luke Metcalf is the answer, we're asking the wrong question.

  • be a great signing at the right price. Wahs were flying last year when he was playing. Plays very similar to Mitch. Maybe the Anzac clash with the dragons 🐉 debuting the jockey is making the Parramatta supremos have second thoughts on Lorenzo?

  • Schuster might have gotten serious since I've read that he has lost so many kilos and appears to be in good shape. However, based on his previous self, he is a rocks or diamond player. If and when, hope Ryles can cut his mold into shining diamond.

  • Very Injury prone

  • Metcalfe was playing #7 at Warriors in 2025 until he was injured late in the season. He was leading the Dally M board the time. But he was a #6 in the juniors (Sharks) and played #6 outside Shaun Johnson in 2024.

Metcalfe can goal kick (who remembers his 50m winning penalty shot in OT vs Broncos?). He is very quick and a good cover defender. Misses some tackles like most halves but I don't recall him being spoken of as the same kind of defensive bystander Pezet has proved to be?

Isn't the only issue here that if Eels secured Metcalf (for #6), what of their plans to develop Lorenzo T or even Papalii?

PS: Metcalfe is signed until end of 2028 with Warriors? . . .

  • This is going to be a shit fight. If we get him, what happens with Lorenzo. Metcalf has stated he wants to play 7. We have Moses, Saints have Reed, both clubs want him as a 6. Will Lorenzo stick around, what message will this send to our other juniors. Whichever way it goes, it will be MON's fault. I suppose we could do it Richardson style, short term gain, long term pain.

    • This.

If the replacement is Talataina now is the time to find out and give him a go.Many may say he's not ready well this is the position the club has put itself in.We can't stop gap forever hell if they want Metcalfe why not just release Moses and accept that ship has sailed and use the cap savings to strengthen another part of the roster cough back 5 cough.

      • I've heard teddy wants to finish his career with mitch. Maybe mitch wants out to eastern suburbs.
