  • If he's our touted starting centre then we are in big trouble..

He try's hard but won't ever be a premiership winning centre

  • Odd one. He played well, though in an average team. I would have liked just for him to partner Best as an example and Penisini goes. But if Ryles prefers Penisini and another Centre, so be it. He's earned to right to test the market.

  • If he wants more money than we can offer then he can see what's out there. Not sure who's likely to pay more than us as he is regularly in our starting side due to lack of other options.

Maybe he will join Russell in Perth?!?

  • I like Samrani. Cover centre, wing and backrower and pretty reliable. Good in the air but lacks the xfactor and speed to be an elite outside back.

The fact some people here saying we can't loose him speaks volumes about the lack of quality in our current outside backs. If he wants to be a first choice nrl player at a good club he needs to develop himself into a backrower. No top team would have him as a starting outside back.

Overall, would like to keep him but not going past 400k. He is the perfect "17" to me.

    • Maybe it speaks volumes about how some fans accept mediocrity

    • Yeah, i would like to keep him but "Can't lose him?" Wouldn't go that far just yet.

  • We are chasing centres. His preferred position is centre. It makes sense he wants a starting spot at another club. If he wanted to transition into the second row even then there are players in front of him. He doesn't have a spot in a roster trying to get into finals.

To be honest. In that Lebanon squad he should stand out. He has been underperforming in a reserve grade squad.

    • He isn't standing out.  Defensively he goes well at centre,  but that position is about taking the opportunities through speed and guile,  neither of which he possess.  Id offer a back up role at 300k. Thats it.

The geniuses here would probably offer 600k

      • I agree. If Volkman signed for $250k a year then Samrani is a $150k to $200k back up utility at best.

        • A club would pay him more than $150-200k. He would get a starting spot at a few bottom clubs at least. Gold Coast for example i reckon would take him to start.

"With how hard we've h web looking for centres can't see him getting a first grade look in at centre in 2028. Also be tough competition in the back row.  Probably be better for him long term if he tries to get a contract with more opportunity "
