JOEY' S BACK AT TRAINING

As the title says, it was just on the news that Joey has been given permission to coach the halves again on the training field. He was seen coaching onfield today. There has been some queries in this regard so I thought I would let you know incase you didn't see it. Get those halves going Joey.

  • C'mon Joey

  • Joey keeps saying in commentary that there is a good player in Jai Field, well hopefully he can find it.

    • field is a good player

    • His strength is his straight line speed, last week he went sideways to hook up with Jenko a dozen times, but he simply doesn't have the ballplaying skill in him. He needs to take a leaf out of Mitch's book and run at right angles to the defensive line. Speed equals power, even in smaller players.

Run straight at the gaps, pull your shoulders through, land on your knees, get quick PTB's, push up in support, OR move the ball immediatley.

That's got to be Field's game.

  • Well he has been critical of Moses, so now he has the opportunity to fix the problems.

  • Run direct Mitch!!!!!

      • If he is going to go across field, he has to start much closer to the ruck. Starting 20m wide of the ruck and then going further across just kills our right edge, which should be elite with the talent we have there.

Start 5m from the ruck, start flat, then go on the C-shape, otherwise, run straight.

        • Good points, mate. I see this week in-week out. Too much sideways running strangling our edges leaving them no space what so ever.

        • 1945 I was in high school. We had a Social Studies teacher who was a Rugby League freak. We did not learn too much about SS`s but quite a bit about Rugby League! He had a mantra which he emphasized by smashing his cane on his desk! " In league you run hard, you run straight and you tackle low." So in this instance, there is nothing new under the sun. MM should follow what Cooper Cronk advised on Fox last Saturday which was essentially the mantra given by our mad  SS`s teacher! Cronk not Johns!

You have given me much schadenfreude with your comment on battling it out with the TCT mob. You are quite right. I knew something of the sort was underway when I was criticized for my support of your contention that Arthur should go immediately. This was proven when Colin Hussey--spelling--'came in from the cold' with a story primed to take away attention from " Our future and our savior" sic  Arthur!

That is a standard protective procedure by that crew destroyed, as they are, by hubris

  • How many clubs has John's been at and actually did anything?

"Captain this is an interesting one. Will teams forced to kick off after scoring start to kick short more often? From memory the short drop outs are close to 50/50 now."

"Also, not a big issue just awkward if you name a debutant on the bench but there is a chance they might not get on the field if there is an injury in a spot like backline.
Like imagine that hahah, here you go mate you might debut off the bench."

"That's the thing it will be hard in certain areas. Firstly as you mention do the 18th and 19th men need to sit out of NSW cup? If so that's not good for development if they aren't playing most weeks. Coaches wouldn't want to play someone like Joash…"
