            • Was trying to deliver the news and be kind, but yep!

          • That's okay if they deserve it. Hard for players to stay motivated if they're on extreme unders. They've earned it IMO

            • They sure have. IMO the ony way we sign a qaulity back is at the expense of Fergo and off loading a quality forward.

                • Crazy if we let NB go.  He is the absolute driver of our forward pack. It showed when he went off injured last weekend.

                • Oregon Kaufusi's outstanding improvement since last season warrants an upgrade too, Mick. He'll have plenty of offers soon if we don't look after him, his manager will see to that.

              • Ah Yes - the good old Cash 22.

$600K  (2021/2) sounds a lot if you say it slowly - in the real market it is not so great when upgrading 3 or 4 players.

Opacic, Pappa and Carty for starters will make a big  dent.

We haven't seen Lussick and a couple of others perform yet

              • "off loading a quality forward" ??????????????

Are we really that flush in the engineroom EE?

                • Mate, we have plenty of talent, depth, size and balance in our forwards.  Add Nuikore back into the equation and it is even stronger.  I don't want to lose anyone from our current pack to pay overs for a centre. I think our engine room is just fine.

                  • OK, I misunderstood your original comment.

One of the recruiting stategies I have liked is buying (say a centre) who can adequately  fill other positions as well

centre - pinch hitter 5/8 - wing - and fill in fb.

It appears to me the days of being an out and out specialist player in any one particular position (forwards or backs) is fast becoming a thing of the past.etc. Is player versatility becoming the new normal?

  • Good outcome. Nice work by the club.

"NOS, excellent post, buddy. It did bring a chuckly.
I would agreeably disagree. The majority of posts, recently, lean towards "outrage" and "frustration". Poo-bombing perhaps, without running with your intelligent Capuchin Monkey fun fact.

"Pops, thanks for your kind words. I was expecting plenty of poo-bombs, but am not surprised at all you're a realist who doesn't get outraged over uncontrollables.

"Captain, that’s a well thought out and a balanced, measured response, as usual. Kudos.
I get why people are angry and outraged over the optics. I just don’t think anger and optics, blowing up the cap, is a brilliant recruitment strategy.
Why did we…"
