Jennings Money

I thought it would be interesting to hear what you blokes think we need in our team. What kind of player should target with Jennings salary? Would you be looking to add a back like Braidon Burns or should we target a foward?

        • Haha well if NBrown wants to try out for halfback, I'm sure he would be welcome. Of course the club would make exceptions for one of its marquee players.

          • Of course, this was all revealed by Danny Wiedler on 100% Footy on Monday night, and Gus' simple response to Brownie was take the two years and back yourself, which I think he'll do.
            Playmakers are always exceptions

    • I think the Eels are being very good to Sam Hughes by keeping him as a listed top 30 player whilst he deals with his personal problems.
I wonder just how much lattitude they will give Sam as they could easily demote him  and push Nathaniel Roache into the top 30.

      • Yea. We can always offer Hughes a development contract next year or even Jersey Flegg. Since, he has missed a hole heap of footy, I doubt he would be NRL ready next year.

        • Which implies all the more that whatever is going on with young Sam is pretty serious and the club is looking after him.
Nothing wrong with that in the right circumstances.

          • That's true but how long do they persist with this. The players in the 30 are there because they are a chance to play NRL. Sam is no chance of making a debut this year. We are probably just lucky we have had a good run with injuries but if things change, the club may be forced to do the unpopular.

            • Thing is that Hollis is now back to Jersey Flegg since the new players have come on board.

      • No way he should be though, somebody else should be promoted in his place.

  • I like our squad at the moment. I'd either go a solid back up half (although smith has been doing an ok job) a centre (don't rate waqa however don't see this changing) or an extra bench forward that adds a bit of size. Otherwise I think we are in a good position with our squad to give the comp a proper crack

  • People can cross Staggs off their lists.

He has re signed with the Donkeys for 4 more years.

"Good blog Scotty,
I agree very much with the "gist" of our good luck....we would not have got out of Talagi what Penrith may end up getting, but he still has a long way to go. Galvin is correct and contrary to your initial feel on RCG, i was pleased…"

It seems to me that Parra may just be starting to have some luck go their way. Things that may seem like a loss initially are turning out well.A few examples -Is Wayne Bennet still a super coach or has he lost touch with the game? I know we made a…
