Is the World Club Challenge a waste of time?

Personally yes I reckon it is. I seriously don't see the point of having NRL teams travel to Pommygitland to play their so called top teams (which I can't see why The Drag-Ons are going). Why don't their clubs come down to Australia to play? Oh, that's right because they don't like travelling and their fans don't like it either...well boo bloody hoo to them. I still find the WCC a total waste of time. More injuries to the NRL teams...anyone think this is a waste of time and money?

  • I'm glad my team is not travelling half way around the world to play a couple of games so close to the beginning of the season...

  • There's 3 teams travelling across, you don't have to win the comp anymore to travel over the England to play this pointless game(s)

    • This is what I was alluding to, thanks Ham.

Even when it was just the premier's of both comps playing the 1 off WCC, I always got the feeling that the coaches of the side having to go to England saw the whole exercise as a pain the a$$.

  • I agree if it swapped between England & Australia every year maybe, but the way it is now is crazy, glad it's not parra playing seems to take at least a month of our comp for who ever goes over,to come good. I must admit I do miss the old kangaroo tours though
  • The Rabbitos arent even the same team that won the comp last year.

Too far to travel and another injury risk

Thats why I think its a waste.

  • 1 out of the last 20 or how ever many it was?? No surprises that the Roosters were the team that managed to get it played in Australia and not have to travel to England.... Uncle Nick pulled some strings there too no doubt!

  • Farce!
  • So I can understand the winners of the respective comps playing - but WTF are the Bonx and St Merge doing over there?

    Just plain stoopid.

Didn't the WCC used to be played a lot earlier (our calender) than this?

  • We are always going there with teams that are rusty or still pissed from celebrating or mentally drained . They are usually still in a flow on affect or in season vibe. We go there travel for ages and half our lads get on the piss punch out pommy punters and still win most of the time. We are just lifting the product over there.
