Just wondering what others think. I know I'm only an old bloke but have watched the game grow and change so much over the years. But is it going to far?
The reasons is it the speed of the Athletes of today or the rule changes like the 6-agains and the dubious refereeing decisions.
Watching tonight's match Cowboys v Sharks there was 80 points scored in 80 minutes. Even the commentators made the point of saying it was ridiculous.
Personally, I am beginning to think the amount of players going to be needed on the bench if things keep going the way the NFL is headed will need to grow even more than what has transpired for this season. I'm not only talking about the Eels but all teams as I honestly think it will catch up to All teams.
I know there will be some say your only an old fart and to get with the modern game. They may well be right. But the more I'm watching games i just think it's going overboard. All this is just my humble opinion wondering what othes think

Yep
Totally Agree.
The amount of points being scored per game is ridiculous.
The long standing record of teams conceding 50 not being contenders will surely fall soon.
The current game conditions mean scoring 50 is nothing extraordinary, therefore conceding 50 is nothing extraordinary.
It is becoming unrecognisable to the game we all grew up watching and loving. The issue is the consistancy with calls, it has always been a bit of an issue with the game, but it's never been worse and certain games are now significantly manipulated to the point it stinks of corruption, this round has already seen some awful calls and the refs hardly get dropped from poor performances.
I think we can all agree that 6 agains can work if it is used for obvious infringements, as in the Dogs game last weekend, but when a game starts off and one team has the ball for so many consecutive tackles, it can be essentially over 20mins in and it isn't fun to watch. Refs should use it with caution and treat it similar to a sin bin, where unless for an obvious infringement, don't call.
Another big concern is the speed of the game is also causing too many injuries, and rules need to be adjusted, otherwise some of these players will have much shorter careers than they would have in the past. NRL really need to adjust rules, so the speed isn't too reckless, first thing they need to do is get rid of Peter Vlandys, he has made too many changes too fast and gambling has become way too much of a focus.
My thoughts exactly Green Eel and that was one of the reasons for this blog to see if my thoughts were on the right track as i said why can't the powers that be see how our great game is getting stuff once again thanks to all
