I was particularly amazed at some of the team talk following our epic win against the Roosters last week. After a game where our boys played their guts out and won against incredible odds, there were countless suggestions of players we need to recruit going forward. IMO we had Corey Norman put in the best performance of any halves player to wear the blue & gold since Sterling & Kenny. And it wasn't a fluke. He has been getting better and better every week. We have a fantastic forward pack lead by Beau Scott who is IMO the current day Ben Kennedy. We have a dynamic second string backline, as most of our first choice players were unable to play. We have not been this consistent since 2005 (2009 we went on a run, it was a poor first half of the season), and yet we need to sign him or him or the other guy.
So where does Hayne fit into this?
For me he doesn't. We have moved on. we have a new culture. I cannot see how the team would benefit by the club spending a large proportion of the cap on something we don't really need and more so IMO someone who will stifle the progress of our current superstar. The arrival of Jeff Robson clearly showed us that all we need is a sturdy half back to take pressure of Corey Norman. We have a good, young, injury free, team player in Norman. Do we need an individual like Hayne. Do we want a player who celebrates the success of the team or a guy who celebrates himself. Do we really want to go back to having someones attitude to training was as reported lax at best. BA has done a superb job in changing the culture of the team. Part of what he had to change was the Hayneisms that worked great for Jarryd, but not so much the coach and the club.
I simply cannot see how Jarryd Hayne would fit into the current team culture. I think he is too big to embrace it and I would hate to see it weakened. I am very concerned about his level of dedication to the club or the game. Would he see out a contract or just hang around until the next itch needs scratching?
This is a lot of money to put up where to me there is a lot of questions about his dedication. We just got rid of one overpriced princess ( I dont care about his problems, we all have problems, he is a soft cock), lets not sign up another one.
Further, I see Corey Norman as the future of the club successes . I don't give a flying fcuk about videos or alleged drug possession, all i care about is Parra and his attitude when he is wearing our jersey. I'm no angel and I'm confident all those who have cast judgement are not angels either. Which makes them hypocrites.
We should put all of our efforts into securing him and his current team mates long term. Hayne is yesterday. Let him stay there.

Sorry Guys, spell check got me. Word should be IMMINENT. I cant find a way to edit the title.
i believe it is.
Prior to losing our 12 competition points and the related points for and against we were in the top 4 in defence and the bottom 4 in attack.
Hayne was the best attacking player in the game when he left in 2014 and we desperately need an elite player or more very good players that can score points. With the exception of Hayne and Norman there are no elite attacking players unsigned or off contract for 2017 that we could sign.
With Foran and Watmough gone we have around 1.75 million on the cap available to go to the market to buy better attacking players, but none are available this time of the year. There may be elite attacking players that come onto the market before Round 1 next year but if this happens they will come with heaps of baggage and be problem children.
Hayne may be eccentric, he may be arrogant and he may be a poor trainer. But if I am willing to accept and strongly support guys who have been to prison for serious crimes, guys who associate themselves with criminal gangs etc., I more then happy to support someone with a big head.
Do we need to secure Hayne, you f**king right we do!
I'm a diehard Hayne fan and naturally want him in the team. However, I'm also a diehard BA fan and believe he can coach Hayne the way he needs to be coached. BA and Hayne had the one rebuilding season together and Hayne won Dally M. Throw a BA'd team into the current setup and there's mental toughness to give Hayne an ideal platform - one he enjoyed in Origin and thrived.
