Fox Sports is reporting that Lomax is eyeing a surprise career shift into boxing or MMA after being released. Lomax has been seen training nearly every day at the gym of Alexander Volkanovski, working out with UFC fighters and preparing to spar soon. His coach, Joe Lopez, says Lomax is “100 percent interested” in trying combat sports and believes he has the natural talent, especially hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness, that could lead to success. While it’s still unclear whether Lomax will start in boxing or move straight to MMA, early indications are he’s already begun the transition.

Who cares, he trying to get around the 10yr ban from NRL, so if he goes to a different sport then R360, he really didn't leave NRL to go to R360.
UFC is the top promotion so it is unlikely someone starting his pro career at his age makes it that far. Regional circuits and maybe an Aussie promotion at best. I don't even see him getting a start at One, or PFL.
His trainer wants him to start in boxing against other footy players then possible explore MMA. Boxing has better prospects for him with No Limit but the new Aussie Promotion International Brawling Championship could also be another option that will get exposure.
