With quotes like this below would you be confident in him not doing something stupid in that close a game against Penrith. It's like a game of two up if he comes onto the field as to if he would throw a stupid pass or score a brilliant try. If we was behind or ahead by more then yeah. Head or tails. I like what he brings but not in that situation.
“Luckily the game was already out of reach by then, but even if the scores were even, I was going for it - [coach] Brad [Arthur] probably doesn’t want to hear that,” Cartwright told the Herald. “It sort of just happened. I played basketball when I was growing up, I still play now, so it’s come from there. Its my opinion he has been told to pick the right time to come up with such plays but looks like he just does as he pleases. I agree he will play him the finals and just want to make sure his head is in the right spot beforehand.
NRL 2022: Mitchell Moses and Dylan Brown lead Parramatta Eels blitz in 48-14 hammering of St George…
Cartwright can't tackle. That's a massive issue and one I'm sure BA and the team wish he would fix. If they could trust his defence they 100% would have used him but in a tight game like that how could you? If we were chasing points they may have risked it.
Spot on Muttman. Carty has always had enormous potential. But the same problems plague him. You spot where he is in the defensive line, & that's the area you can target. It's an invitation.
He seems to grab at tackles quite often, without positioning his body in the right place or something, a bit like the Waqa used to.

The fact the Eels were already ahead 42-14 with just four minutes remaining made it a little easier for Cartwright to opt for the low-percentage play.

Way me go trying to find a way to criticise the coach after beating Penrith. Your glass is always half empty isn’t it.
Who cares, let's celebrate

If Marata ever gets over his sore hammy, Cartwright will finally get game time, in Reggies. Then you will see BA use 17 in a game.
