Injury report

An update on the Dyldam Parramatta Eels squad heading into Round 6 of the NRL Telstra Premiership. Hooker Nathan Peats has been named to take on the Canberra Raiders on Saturday at Pirtek Stadium, returning from a dislocated elbow. Halfback Luke Kelly sustained an ACL injury in the Wentworthville Magpies’ Round 5 match, and will miss the rest of the 2016 season.Fullback Bevan French dislocated his elbow in the Eels’ under 20s match on Sunday afternoon, and will likely miss 4-6 weeks of competition. Prop Tim Mannah is set to miss a further 2 weeks of competition with a fractured shoulder blade picked up in the Eels’ Easter Monday win over the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium.Forward Matt Woods will miss a further 3-5 weeks of competition with a hamstring injury, while centre John Folau will miss a further 1-2 weeks with a fractured foot. Anthony Watmough continues to train on a modified rehab program for a knee injury, with a return date yet to be confirmed.

  • Thanks chief.

  • Nòooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Well the season is over now Parra won't win another game all year now that Kelly is gone for the season

    • What? How is he injury prone? He played a whole year last year and was fine. 2 injuries in 5 rounds is not "injury prone", it's just bad luck. Given his body is still developing and he is young, this is when injuries are most LIKELY to occur. It does not however, mean he is injury prone. Especially a dislocated elbow, that is extremely unlucky and has nothing to do with how strong you are, as we saw with Peats.

    • It's a disgrace

2 dislocated elbows in 5 weeks (Peats & French) either fire the trainers or get better drugs
    • It was just one of those freak injuries I'm afraid. He made a scintillating run upfield and was pulled down in a fairly innocuous tackle. The side absolutely collapsed once he went off due to the necessary positional changes.
  • If Mitch Cornish gets injured then we are screwed no back up halves at all
  • No it is not, wenty are top of the ladder with him in the halves. Now we need to play someone out of position there which will potentially effect them making the semis now. As someone else has pointed out if Cornish were to go down wenty would be screwed and first grade wouldn't have a recognized back up half.

People like you who say it's a good thing that people get injured for the season is a good thing are complete tools I'm sorry.

"God he looks old in that pic, that's what this case has done to him.
Look i know Melbourne would say no, but i would still hold the card of he cannot play us in Round 1. If they give us a player that can be the same rule.
Melbourne want it done to…"

"Yeah but need cap space as they have a lot of players off-contract and have no cash. So if they can get say $300k of Ramien's deal left for example, that can be given to a player or two this year as a top up and get them cheaper on the cap next year…"

"So Storm get Lomax and Ramien, Parra get X(released player) and Sharks get salary cap space? I thought Sharks were a bit thin on outside backs too now with some injuries "
