The Parramatta Eels have released today that they have signed or resigned 4 players. They have retained Patrick Spence, Max Tupou and Meni Luke, all of whom have been playing in the club's pathways competitions.

In further news  released by Zero Tackle today, Winger Arthur Miller - Stephen has returned to the Eels after suffering back-to-back injuries, which saw him only play three matches in the past 24 months.

I have mentioned this before that when the Eels lose out on an elite player, within a couple of days they release the signing or resigning of fringe players. Once again the playbook was used to perfection, we have lost an Australian Representative Winger in Lomax, Missed out Koloamatangi and then within days we get these siginings released.

Anyone have any idea if these are good signings, bad signings or who gives a rats Ar#%.

'I'm  being very childish right now, and I know it,  but I'm simply underwhelmed with recruitment success at the moment.

              • What you fail to realise buddy is that Parramatta are down the bottom and when you are down the bottom its very hard to climb up and sometimes you have to take a punt to help yourself.

The dragons are also down the bottom but by buying KK despite paying massive overs they had to bring someone of note to their club who may be able to attract other good players . Now this may or may not work but as in any business you sometimes need to take a risk to get on top .

This dribble about doing what Penrith have done is perfect in theory but Parramatta do not have that personnel to do what they did , we don't have a Gus or Matt Cameron.

I'll give you a perfect example, in 1996 when Parramatta spent 9m on players they had no choice because we were rabble of a club , when players like Smith and Pay signed contracts with the ARL for 600k a year they wanted a extra 500k to come to Parramatta because we were a rabble, so all the players Parramatta bought during the super League cost Parramatta exactly 9.4m dollars, they took a huge risk but it worked and we were back on top .

Parramatta constantly make fools of themselves when it comes to recruitment, so you need to change things and take a risk by paying overs for a name player as it may kick start things.

We are not Penrith or the storm because we don't have the standard of people they have .

If Parramatta did pay overs for KK of course many would of hammered the club , but it would of also shown that the club knew they had to do something to at least try and get a big name , best to go down trying than to go down doing the same thing that has never worked.

That's your statement Frankie! You want them to go down trying but want them to be rewarded for having a go at something that has never worked........If you were our CEO and said that, what would you be thinking? Could that be having a "little each way" maybe?

In the process of the "many" where would you have positioned yourself? Would you have come out and said "good on you Parra for standing up and getting that good Player".....I would have to admit I have/cannot remember when you have actually said anything positive like that....ever.

You have a propensity to be very disparaging about the quality of people we seem to have.

Only for the last 40 years or so mind you!, shit! recruitment and retention is not just a front office "now thing", is it?  Did you stand up and complain when we lost Matt Cameron?

Would you recognise a good operator before he/she would become one? People selection skils go deeper than just their breeding.

How many others on this site in the period of time since losing KK have convoluted their opinions with hipocrisies?

                  • What happens when constantly do the same thing that always fails?

People don't become successful from doing things that always fail .

Parramatta keep on using the same formula that has constantly not worked for them .

                    • Second Paragraph Frankie......they do until they succeed!

                  • Who was it that said, winning starts in the front office. Cant remember that blokes name, seems like he knew a bit...

Front office is poorly managed with sub par staff. Start by hiring the best and then let's see if things change in the recruitment front. Willing to bet these two bowling balls it does.

              • No doubt there's been improvement on the field and off it, but we are still far away from where need to be off it IMO.

Ryles has been a revelation and so too has the R&R team - although there's has been in a negative light.

            • You won't get answers from the club Fongy nor some on here....

Just more excuses and positivity even though the points you make are smacking them right between the eyes.

  • Great news! The future is looking good at Parra. Could be a Ken Irvine, Eric Grothe amongst those..

    • Well it's only been since 2006 since we unearthed one , we must be due , yeah ?

Faaaark , has it been 20 years since we unearthed an Australian player from our stocks  ? Really ?

Where are the smart footy heads to confirm this ?  Thats a blog in itself if so .

"MON and all his staff at R&R should be sacked if they don't have the decency to go. It had been happening consistently, losing out to every player that some teams are also after. It is not accidental, it is utterly incompetence."

I know it's tough to get struck by lightening more than once, but that's exactly what it's going to take with the current tactics the club is employing."
