I'M SICK OF THIS CRAP

Read any news post and the argument is Bryce Gibbs got 3 weeks and Hayne got off because he's the Dally M player and it's the GF.NO! Luke Burt ran away from the Tigers' defence, easily scored a try and Gibbs - after the put down - lead with his knees into Burt's kidney's almost ruling him out for the game after.Hayne, on the other hand, chased down a bouncing ball and with all his effort tried to bat it into touch. Goodwin - to his credit - snuck under Hayne's defences and scored; leaving Hayne no where to go but to slide over the top of him, all the while lifting his legs to get out of the way.The two scenarios could not be further removed and it was an utter nonsense Hayne was charged in the first placed. This crap that Gibbs was hard done by and Hayne got off scott-free is one thing - total crap!

  • I'm with you Johnny Suede. The tall poppy syndrome has kicked in for Jarryd and over-emotional d!ckheads have presumed he's getting special treatment for being a star without bothering to consider the facts that you've pointed out. According to those same people, any infringement in the semi's should result in a suspension for the GF, because that's what happened to Smith last year. Idiots!

I think Hayne could have done more to avoid Goodwin, i.e. tried to hurdle him rather than just turning his knees away, however he didn't. It was careless on Hayne's part .. Grade 1 is justified and deserved. Gibbs' incident on the other hand was less careless and more malicious .. late and easy to avoid. He got grade 2, had carryover points and unsuccessfully appealed, hence his extended stint on the sideline.

So when it boils down to it, Hayne got Grade 1 and Gibbs got Grade 2 which is correct given the nature of the infringements. It is only their prior judiciary history and the appeal process which has resulted in seemingly disproportionate sentences.
  • For want of sounding like a broken record... One. His knees never touched Goodwin. His bum did. And two: all this nonsense that Hayne "got off" (ie the crap some journo wrote in the Tele today) No he didn't - he got charged with a grade one striking offence but (thank God) had enough points to see him through.
  • Gibbs had a bad record already going into his judiciary, Hayne didnt, he just won a Dally M award, wish the media would get over it. Another thing, when Gibbs got Burt with the kness, Burt had the ball in his hands at the time of impact, Hayne's was differant, both Hayne and Goodwin were contesting the ball... ITS A CONTACT SPORT, ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES COME WITH PLAYING THE GAME, IF THEY CAN'T HANDLE IT, A NETBALL COURT IS THEIR NEXT STOP.........

"Munster also stayed for less. I seem to remember saying that a strong indicator of good culture is a place where players are willing to stay for less (financially speaking)."
