If we lose to Melbourne, we are guarenteed 6th spot, with the winner of the Roosters v Bunnies game guaranteed to grab 5th spot due to their superior for and against record.
That also means that, if we lose to Melbourne, we are guaranteed to play the loser of the Bunnies v Chooks game in a sudden death clash week 1 of the finals.
Personally, I'd prefer to play Roosters in week 1. I know that seems silly given the quality of the Roosters roster, but we struggle against the Bunnies more than any other opposition.
I also think the loss of Lindsay Collins and Tupou will make the Roosters significantly less threatening. The loss of Collins certainly makes their bench far less imposing.
Let's hope we beat Melbourne. If not, I'm cheering on the Bunnies on Friday night.

Ah geez that's a tough assignment week one if we lose. Massive game tomorrow night I'm already nervous as fark
Just realised if we do beat Storm and end up 4th.
We get Penrith week 1 of finals and if we lose against Penrith in week 1 we get Storm week 2 of finals if they win week 1.
Whats peoples thoughts if we beat Storm going into the finals and finish 4th but then bow out in straight sets losing to Penrith (red hot favourites) and Storm (we know how good they are)?
Not a disgrace if they are close games but will still be very disappointing considering we've beaten both teams this year already and once again it will mean we've failed to step it up in the finals.
We will make GF no matter where we finish
It's hugely important we win this game, ideally without sustaining any injuries, suspensions or using to much juice. Panthers are resting almost their entire starting side this week so they are going to be fresh for the finals.
Up until last year Storm had always finish top of the competition. Had always finisned first or second the last ten years. This will not sit easier for them.
Let's make the top 4 play panthers 2 bites of the cherry
which is why I was hoping Melbourne beat the rorters last week That would have meant we would be 5th and playing Canberra.
