Melbourne will have their eyes on Ryles there's absolutely no doubt. If i were Sarantinos and the board I'd be in talks right now to extend Ryles.
Ryles will turn this club around the longer he is here the better we'll get. Every player he's brought to this club has made it better. He's cut the deadwood, fixed up our previously languishing reserve grade outfit and has some great development coming through all grades. We started the year badly and it took time for players to adhere to Ryles's style. At season's end we had some good results beating the Warriors in nz, Roosters, Broncos, absolutely flogging Newcastle who were trying to avoid last place.
Then there's the emergence of Ryley Smith, Williams, Kautoga, Iongi Tuivaiti and many other players improving.
I don't know about you guys but id like to see Ryles tied up until at least 2030.

Ryles won't leave, he's been given everythig he needs for success. If we go deep into the finals this year I'm sure the club will lock him up long term.

If Ryles leaves in 2028 with a premiership then I frankly don't care.
But let's see anyway. If Ryles improves us again this year I'd go into contract talks with him next off season.

Well that's the thing, if he badly wanted the Storm job he could have waited and been in the system. Why go to Eels and risk being sacked and ruining your chances altogether?
Isn't he contracted here until end of 2029. Given our contract stance with Lomax, I can't see us letting him go if the club is getting into the finals etc.

They were saying on the Kenty Podcast that Cam Smith going to the Bronco's was about getting the experience required to fill Bellamy's shoes when he finally retires. His kids will probably have left school by the time Bellamy finally retires so it won't be an issue to go back to Melbourne. I don't think it's a coincidence that both announcements were only a week apart.
