Lot's of things done and said, how do you think this happened and why is MON still very much part of the survival at this point?

That kangaroo trip last year involved  the 4 of them Beach, Saratinos, Ryles and O'Neil.

They said they  all got a better feel and a direction for the club during this venture..........i.e bonded somewhat (my words).

I made  my own summise that this plan was set up when the group of 4 came together to develop a plan during that trip..... there was a reference by the Chairman that Rush was one of the first (not when they first met) introduced.

Not surprising if and once a plan was devised that Ryles would  introduce Rush into the process, given their respective relationships

At this point the strategy was founded for Saratinos to move aside and the next stage of the process evolved. The recruitment of Sua, Luai and Lienu all comes under Saratinos's watch and as HOE has explained Saratinos opened the door for extensive TPA's. Sarantinos wanted to finish the best way he could, i.e. by creating a CEO opportunity with a football direction/expertise. He would have aknowledged there was not much more he could do than what he had achieved.

Finny (IEE member) when commenting on whether Cameron was first choice or not was correct in laying out a due diligence process, (even if at that early stage Rush was a potential pick for the job) which had to take place. Such diligence had to take place to ensure that it wasn't just a "captains pick" to coin a phrase.

Everyone would have been pretty certain Cameron would not go for it and who knows who the other applicants were, duly provided by the "head hunters" sure again more integrity to the process. If Cameron expressed any interest at all, we will not know!

My guess is no from the beginning.

On the Sully issue, I am not convinced that O'Sullivan was an integral part of this other than being opportune in a time of change........., an opportunity opened up and his manager who more than likely has gone to Parra to participate in a negotiation started by the Bronc's. Further integrity for Broncs in the perception of a win over a rival. i.e it would be too coincidental for two clubs to decide at the same time we should make a offer to POS. i.e. Broncs were the obvious instigator.

We were out leveraged again and that is because of our own history! no surprises there, as its regularly pointed out that the underbidder is us.   i.e. used as a counter balance. So be it, we will be there again one day. This sort of stuff is where Rush will be very different in and using his experience.

Now let me reaffirm that this is supposition on my part, none of us are going to be privy to actually what happened and how!....... I'm still trying to come to terms that MON is still here and it must I think, go back to the original discussions on that Kangeroo trip.......i.e. they were not extending blame, just what they need to do in the next stage of the process of bringing us on the right trejectory

My further guess is for MON to be still here means he was somehow part of this process..

How long, will MON survive into the future will be the topic of a many blogs I imagine.

The fact that Saratinos fell on his sword and did not sack MON goes along way to explain why MON is still here. Rush would never have taken the position of HOF.

I think the question maybe imposed subject to success next year but I am sure there will be a number of opinions put forward.

  • I'm just glad the clubs recognised its weakness and there actually looking to improve obvious problem areas.

Thats a win.If they didn't move in this process now no chance in hell was it worth extending JR so like you've mentioned they are well down the road in this reclamation project.

Losing PoS is a loss and we 100 have to get a recruitment manager with more experience in here that has some sought of pedigree the club needs it JR needs it.

    • Yes, that recruitment guy may need to come from left field, an agent maybe, someone with a vision .....of course if Anderson takes it, it is owned......unlikely to do so in my opinion, his involvement with the Dragons is still very young, I don't think he could walk away that easily.......I wonder if that guy at Easts ...John Strange (spell?) would be a chance, certainly has done a great job with the women and his son is entrenched at Canberra. He knows everyone that counts? and the mens game as well!

  • Mon recruiting at Kellyville maccas thats the success we really need at this point

  • Now is the time to chase Ponissi, Storm losing players, Munster and Grant going to market. Bellamy moving on, no real candidate to replace him.

    • yeh! good thoughts Mick, a much better option than Ando if it could be achieved.

  • Blaming MON has just become a self-perpetuating narrative after fans lost the option of blaming Arthur (and realising him leaving didn't fix anything). We don't know anything about how much is MON's responsibility or how much is out of his hands. All we know is that he's not the CEO. Why do we keep blaming him when we don't know the internals of how the club is run?

The whole thing just stinks of footy fans lashing out mindlessly in typical footy fan fashion.

    • On the flip side there are fans supporting everything the club does and not holding anyone to account.  Everything is good, apparently.

      • JC, if you let the fans run the club, we would all be fcuked.

        • Who said we should let the fans run the club?.

Our front office has been poor, there is no two ways about it, we as fans have every justification to ge critical,  being a fan boy isn't going to help.

          • Our front office may have been poor in your assesment JC but when you understand what/where we have come from 2014 onward and the club being placed under management, you may have a better understanding of the needs of the many, rather than those of the few who don't understand, that they don't understand.

Yes mistakes have been made but the survival and strength of this process/mangement has left us in this stead now, where we can evolve further and profit by the mistakes past and present.

Could you honestly say you would have been capable of taking us through this period, as it seems you see yourself judging it, rather than understanding those needs.

Understand the qualities and qualifications of the incumbents and make your case of how you would have done better, based on your experience.
