No wonder our players have no ticker to win . It’s like a fucking primary school these days with all this hugging and chitter chatter after the game with the opposition. It takes away a part of the hunger and competitiveness in you if you’re giving the other guys Dutch rudders and awards . You’re supposed to hate the kents and wanna beat them at all costs , not fucking take a trip down to Kmart and buy em a fucking coffee mug or whatever the fuck it was we gave him . Fuck him , he’s only another player .
Exactly , fuck....the mongrel in my bones when it comes to playing would’ve wanted to break his legs and make him miss his last game . But that’s just me .
A lot of clubs are doing it, i actually think it's a great gesture, especially for such legends of the game such as thurston and slater.
The NRL should have chipped in to send JT for a weekend away at Coffs Harbour, just to say thanks for the memories.
Haha , they seem to forget about that when they’re talking about his stellar career . As well has his two or three arrests and many a rumour about affairs with team mates wives over the years .
I guess all you have to do is pick up your kicking tee and give away your free headgear each game and all of your indiscretions over the years just vanish and you become an ambassador of the game . Between him and Johns it’s pretty much proven it’s all decided on how well you play and not how you act off the paddock .
I agree with Wizz. This is the problem with modern day rugby league. They all like to chat and laugh after the game like it's all just a bit of fun (even after they've been thumped by 40 points). I think that's why it's important to take the 'build' v 'buy' approach (within reason). You end up with a core group of players that are really connected to the club and really take a loss personally. It's OK to socialise with players in the sheds after the game but in my view it should be kept out of the public eye. Shake hands, walk off, have a can in the sheds - old school. The exception is games against Melbourne where we completely ignore them and drink alone.
it`s called respect don
you got to say why the nrl did not do something about the treatment from the cowboys supporters last friday night.
