How would you respond to the media?

With the media seemingly hounding our administration, coach and players for comment, how would you respond in each situation or how do you think they should respond?Board members: "The NRL has already given the all clear to a thorough review which addressed many of these issues. If the NRL has any further queries we will co-operate fully, just as we would expect of any other NRL club"Coaching staff: "Are you a journalist? I would have thought a journalist would understand what my job entails and would also know I have nothing to do with administration"Players: "Do your homework. The only thing I tackle is other players."

  • x2. The 2 words journalists hate most. No comment.
  • Firstly I would place a media ban on coaching staff & players until journalists learn to ask football related questions only.

The President & board should have no comment other than to say, all related documents have been handed over to NRL officials & after investigation if there is a case to answer, those known to have been involved will be dealt with accordingly.

    Cheers bigears.
  • How many times do they ask and get the same reply. It's frustrating to watch.

    "We are focused on football"

    "We don't read the papers"

"I'm not going to talk about that"

"We're concerned what happens on the field"

I know it's their job but seriously go and get an honest one.

Don't fan the flames and the story will die.
  • I like the way norman handled it in his interview even peatsy.
  • Haha love your replies Yobz.

Given they are the same drawn out rehashed articles reprinted ad nauseum, think it would be fair to respond with...same as I told you last time dick head, "no comment!"
  • Whilst I have been critical of some of Sharp's recent responses, which IMO appeared to be impulsive rather than considered, I think that he has done the best thing possible with he & Boulous meeting with Grant from the NRL & restating the Club's position embracing on going co-operation & transparency with the NRL.

From the Club's perspective, he can do no more.

  • LOL

  • Hi Frankie, in all fairness I think Sharpie did the best thing.

IMO he needs to refrain from feeding the rumour & gossip frenzy by responding to all future assertions & approaches by the media with a generic comment along the lines that "the Parramatta Club is fully committed to co-operating with the NRL & complying with the NRL's requirements".

End of story. When a journo persists then bore the shite out of him by ad infinitum repeatedly restating the comment & refrain from any additional comment.

  • By turning up in numbers tommorrow night, dhow the players we back them 100%.

"Lomax isnt on our cap, hes was released and cap space freed. his breaking the condition of his release, we should not be settling for a mid level player unless its multiple players.
if we were smart he would not be playing rd1 against us either. "
