How do you think Madge would have gone with Parra ?

Remember Madge was also in the running for the eels job ? I wonder how that would have turned out ? 😂 seems like he's a coach who needs top tier stars to be any good so probably would have ended badly 😂

        • If Luai has a bad year, do you think he'll still command top dollar? He's on a good deal, I can't see him getting too much more if he has a bad year.

  • We will never know but I highly doubt he would have matched what ryles has done this year.

I was against a rookie coach and wanted an experienced coach, not madge, I thought that was what we needed, I was wrong.

I doubt an experienced coach would have gone the rip the band aid off route that ryles did, they would have tried to get something out of the experienced players like, gutho, rcg, lane, Cartwright,  matterson and ofa. We might have had roughly the same amount of wins,  I doubt it, but we would only just be about to start a rebuild next year or the year after.

Madge was the right coach for the broncos and ryles is the right coach for the eels, no looking back, no second guessing.

  • Nah, I prefer Ryles

  • I feel like he may not have made the tough but necessary decisions the Ryles has made to set us up for the next few years straight away

    • I doubt not many, if any coaches makes the changes in their first season that Ryles has. You now start to see many rookie coaches start to copy what Ryles did. Hannay is trying to do so at Gold Coast.

You are right, Madge would have tried to use what was here already.

  • Madge would've been great at Parra.

    Results speak for themselves.

  • Madge has shown he can coach and , he succeeded with the kiwi side , NSW , and won a premiership with the bunnies but the common denominator has been that he had some great players to work with .

Madge is a coach who needs to coach a top or established side and his methods will work , he can't build a side up as he showed with the tigers . It's no coincidence that he inherited a top roster at the Broncos and his coaching methods have got them into a GF , he would of been a disaster at Parramatta like he was at the tigers because he is simply not a coach who can build a club up from the bottom .

  • While top flight players help, like Des, he needs a certain type of man. If you are easily offended, or upset when told the truth in a blunt way, you're not going to last a long time. He's and old school coach for old school types and definitely not a man manager whom some players where he has been have needed.

"The league needs to come down heavier for dangerous play. The players will soon learn that it's not worth the risk. Yes we all want to see a good tough game of RL, but not if it impacts players longterm health."
