Hoppa still training with us. ?

A few days ago I was watching the interview with Gordon and I don't know if you guys heard what I heard the journo asking him about our backs and he mentioned Will. Today I was with a good mate of mine who plays for the dogs and he told me yes his still training with us as nothing has happened yet because of that Sunday no play he wants part of the deal dogs are holding back. Anyone know what's going on with his situation?

  • As far as I know he's being training with the dogs for 2 weeks now
    • hes training with the dogs and not the eels , look at parra website of the training group, there is no hoppa there today and no cory norman.

  • Surely this can't be true , his still training with us? And that Sunday no play has to be a gee up
  • Norman is in quite a few pictures.

  • Na I'm 100% sure about what Iv said and mentioned the dogs player assured me that and said its no gee up that's y dogs are holding back and if they don't sign him we will be stuck with him I think for that reduced price we gave him
    • Bit hard when he is not even contracted for next season, he will be at the dogs. No way will he still be an Eel.

  • I think i heard him say it as well but I ignored, just thought he might have had some heatstroke or something.
  • I'll assure you on a number of counts.
    1. I've been to training - he's not there.
    2. He's not contracted to the club.
  • Not seen them much this off season to pay attention to Scott's size. To clarify, you don't always get the players clowe enough to you at pre season training for you to get a true appreciation of their size. When it comes to January, I'll probably get to at least a dozen sessions and be in a better position to notice all players. At the pre-season, there's around 40 players on the fields! I'll be mainly observing come January. What my initial thoughts are on seeing him is that he seemed to be the build of a classical lock - enough size to be effective in the forwards but athletic enough to be mobile.
I feel confident enough to say that Alvaro's size has him comfortably a front Rower. He would not be run over in the position and can hit the ball up with impact.
  • Alvaro is about 108kg, certainly not small but not large for a prop. Scott has, to my memory, been around 100kg mark but its not your size its your tackle technique that is important. Especially in the past a lot of the big hitters have not been big men and recently the Penriff prop (name escapes me) who just retired was a huge hitter without being big.
