  • Dom Murphy highlights:

  • Sean Keppie Article

Sean Keppie has lived and breathed rugby league since he was four-years-old.

He has now reached one of his goals – being selected in the Australian Schoolboys team, a national side for high school students.

“I feel overwhelmed that I have made the team,” Mr Keppie said.

“I am excited about what is to come and I will keep pushing myself.”

He left with his team to attend a week-long training camp on the Gold Coast on Monday before playing the first game on July 31 against England Academy in Queensland.

“We will be training most days, going through plays and defence and will do team bonding activities,” Mr Keppie said.

The boys will then fly back to Sydney to verse England at Woolooware on August 6.

Mr Keppie also plays lock for the Guildford Owls, which is part of the Parramatta club. Three of his teammates were also named in the schoolboys side, Josh Curran, Michael Tupou and Tui Afualo.

The 18-year-old played for the Narellan Jets from age four to 17 and still has regular involvement with the club.

“I enjoyed being part of the club because the Jets community has always supported me,” he said.

Mr Keppie said he dreamt of playing for the NRL one day.

“I am happy when I play rugby league. I feel comfortable when I am on the field.”

    • Gee that Keppie is strong. Smashed a few much bigger forwards.

  • Tangirere Hokai clips:

    1)

    2)

    • Well done Ricky. Tangi Hokai is a real goer. Plays fearless. Stood out in NYC trial vs Wenty and charged into the older blokes at an NYC vs NRL opposed session.
Keep a watch on Tui and Junior - both going places. Forty has a great write up about NYC on TCT and will be adding to it.
  • Awesome, thanks Rick, and i love youve included the proper way to pronounce their names lol, its damn hard without hearing the correct pronunciation to get a grip on some of these names.

    • S'all good, Snake.

      Don't have to tell me.

I like to think that I'm decent with some of the pronunciations but deadset, some of these names are ridiculous.

The best one - or worst, lol - is from the Roosters. Joseph Ratuvakacereivalu. Pronounced Rah-tu-vak-a-ther-i-va-lu. Try saying that fast 5 times.

  • BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ratuvakacereivalu, the bloke and his family are taking the piss expecting people to say that, thats just ridiculous lol

  • Oddly enough, he's a Parra junior.

    • There you go, didn't even know that.
