  • So nice to see what the club is focused on, this is the worst eels defensive side in its 80 year history leaking 35 points a game and now there are having crisis mettings about a podcast page

  • Zee players vill nein sprechen to zis feelthy vermins...... by order of zee Fuhrer

Using Access to control the narrative.... Makes you wonder....

  • The Talking Parra Podcast is growing faster than any other podcast because they speak their minds and don't hold back, as others do in fear of retribution when mentioning those who should be accountable

They want what's best for the fans - having a successful team with the right people running the place.  They'll criticise whoever is accountable without holding back.

These other podcasts who ask participants not to name names and point the finger, will fail long term, because they turn a blind eye to the big issues,  and fans see straight through that.

Ill give my full support to those who seek success - ( Talking Parra Podcast),  for the club first and foremost, and aren't afraid to make the persons in the Eels offices accountable.

The 1ee podcast is new and finding their feet, so im not talking about them

    • I'm not sure about doing what is best for club. Adam the lead is in it all for himself. He has done some dodgy things over the years. Last year he put up a post saying for every Parra player that follows us we will donate $10 to charity. That is dodgy as, using charity as a push for players to follow them. That's wrong. That was put up in the morning and deleted quickly.

He from hearing left the SGA is poor form as well. Claims to have thick skin yet the tiniest knock and does a 15min video explaining himself.

Even last week said we shouldn't protest, even though he did himself in 2024. Told everyone to not give the club money or renew their memberships. The night of the protest he posted himself in the tunnel as they ran out and the protest didn't eventuate.

He also abused the English guy from TikTok who did interviews with players saying he did deserve his spot and even abused his mrs who came in to defend him. Had burner accounts supporting him. Those accounts that backed him up had no followers and followed nobody and no pics. Funny how they just comment to support him. I mean look should that guy be interviewing players? No he supports the club as they get him views on TikTok. But at the same time he's harmless he didn't do anything overly wrong, club asked him to do it. Why target him.

They are growing fast but I personally do not support them. I feel they are in it for themselves and access. That was taken away.

      •  ..."for every Parra player that follows us we will donate $10 to charity"....Ummm LB, our club also uses charities and sick kids as marketing so it's not that lowball from him. As long as he then pays up I'm good with it

We are yet to see if access has actually been prevented successfully...I wouldn't wear it as a player and even normal folks can be surprisingly resourceful

        • Not when you are using charity as a form to boost your followers. Parramatta do not put players in that position for charity. I mean what if Moses didn't follow, some idiot will say "well Moses doesn't like charity as he won't follow"

That's what the idea of the post was, practically blackmailing them into following if they didn't it looks bad on them. That's using charity for wrong thing.

I don't see when Parra go to Ronald McDonald house as any marketing other than donate to them. They aren't doing it for followers or to get comments. They did it as that's what clubs should do and having a partnership with them that would be a part of it.

Totally different Randy. Club shows themselves with Charity, particularly around Xmas but not to promote them or players. They did it to get followers. Using charity to guilt players into following is so wrong in my eyes.

          • If "donating to a charity" was simply about donating to a charity, then there would be no need for the club to make video of it and promote it. It's a kind of virtue signalling.

Personally I don't have an issue with it, the club needs to promote a healthy image and reputation, but you can't say they are not doing the same thing as the podcast guy.

            •  I get what you’re saying and I agree most charity work has a PR element attached to it. Clubs, companies and brands all publicise charity work because it helps their image.

But I still don’t think it’s the same thing.

The club doing community work is part of the organisation itself and the players are club representatives. A podcast tying donations to whether players follow a personal page is different because it directly benefits that page and creates pressure on players to engage publicly.

My issue was never with the charity itself. It was the “follow us and money gets donated” part of it. If a player chose not to follow, it could easily make them look bad unfairly.

If they did something like for this round every Eels try $10 to charity or JAC has agreed every try he scored we will donate $10 to charity. That is more than fine, that gets eyes on your page 100%. I have no issue with that as it is for a good cause and eyes are on the page. It is putting players in that position and using charity to get players in that i have the issue with.

          • The Eels publicise their charitable acts to boost their support & they don't blackmail the players, they they just tell them to take part in it.  They show themselves  and talk about doing it to improe their image and appeal. Everyone loves a warm fuzzie but how do we even know of such acts? Eels PR release it for a reason. They gain benefit from it. Same-same just different scale. Like the Ronald McDonald House could be called anything else, but it's not, because it's Charity/Marketing/PR. I'm not knocking it...ROI and  all that, and it is a good cause but don't be blind to what it is it or it's subtle effects on perceptions

It makes no-one look bad, ever, to ignore some twat on tok-book. That's a straight-up furphy

            • I didn't say the club blackmail players, I am saying what talking Parra did was sort of like it as they used it the factor of "chartiy" to boost their followers. I find that wrong.

All NRL clubs are affiliated with charities, as they should be. But they are no saying follow us or anything like that.

if Talkin Parra say did a thing with JAC where he agreed to say every try he scores they podcast donates $10 to charity or something. That's fine, that's a bit of fun and he will get followers from people seeing it. But to try and get players to follow as it means money goes to charity is wrong.

Players are asked by the club as it is a part of their contract obligations.
