Just a thought but I see Manly are heading up here to Rappville to have a look at what the bushfires had done and help out. I was thinking if anyone here has contact with the club, maybe suggest that the club and players come up here and help out the victims or even help the RFS in battling some of the fires, have a look at what the fires had done, talk to some of the victims, donate a few signed jumpers or donate some money to help the victims, those who lost everything. It would make some kids day, even if the kid isn't an eels fan but at least he/she can get to talk to Moses or Dylan Brown or whoever. Just a suggestion

An excellent suggestion Parramaniac. I've been helping a mate out up at Nana Glen for the last couple of days and have been amazed at the work of the chopper pilots, the RFS, the local volunteers and the NPWS. This area is also rugby league heartland (Group 2) and any support that can come from down south would be very much appreciated I'm sure.
Is Rusty out there giving everyone orders ?
Nah mate, he's away at the moment. Nearly lost his house though and it's pretty close to the township.
Out of curiosity with all the media going on around it can I ask you as a first hand witness , has there been any activity in fire hazard reduction up there ? And what’s the locals perception of the topic ?
As much as i I can’t stand Crowe I’m glad his property survived .
Some locals feel that more could have been done to reduce fuel loads in certain areas but they also acknowledge the sheer size of the area. It's simply not possible to reduce fuel loads everywhere and there are only certain days when those hazard reduction burns can take place (due to wind strength, temperature, legislation and the like). Russell Crowe has always been extremely generous to the Coffs Coast community funding the local pool, rugby league, team uniforms, sporting equipment (and everything in between). He wanders around town just like anyone else. Yes, they are all very lucky that they saved Russell's house. If it got through his property the town would have been next.
Look at grunts lol, some might say as excited as a pyro bush fire brigader in bush fire season.
assume that for all the poor victims who have lost their homes or worse the government will make sure refugees and transgender issue are at he top of the help list ?
Grunt's i read that a patient from Callan park hospital for the insane escaped , keep a look out for Monto and don't approach him if he is wearing his old altar boy uniform .
About 7 years ago my brother lost his house to the fires in the Blue Mountains and, with a kid with autism, it was pretty tough on them. Somehow the Eels got wind of it and organised for them to come down to training and meet the players and get signatures etc.
Was a great gesture that lifted their spirits, especially their sons. Will be forever thankful for the players who took a fair amount of time out to chat with them and play footy with their son.
