Well well well. We meet again. Now before you all get off on abuse like ferrel dogs let loose in Rooty Hill, let me just congratulate you on a greatly contested game that I think everyone will agree was competitive, entertaining, and lived up to the hype and expectation. Truly one of the best grand final matches I’ve watched. In the last 10 minutes of the game, i thought it may actually be possible Parra would pull off a miracle and stage one of the most memorable comebacks in grand final history. I was nervous. I was mentally preparing what I might have to write here. I’ve never liked the taste of humble pie, nor do i do apologies very well. Thankfully, being an 80 minute game, Parra could not win when it mattered. At the end of the day it’s still been 23 years since your club has won anything worth mentioning; a premiership. The saddest thing was seeing Hindmarsh miss out again. In my opinion the best forward in the game, and just generally a great bloke. What a shame such a legend won’t taste ultimate victory in his club career at Parramatta. He should’ve been a Bulldog. In the lead up to GF game, all I’ve been hearing about is Hayne this and Hayne that. Can we all agree the phenomenon dubbed as the Hayne Train came to a sudden halt at Homebush stadium at approximately 5.30 pm Sunday eastern time. Although he was one of the main reasons Parramatta had a dream run into the final, i think yesterday’s game cemented who really is the world’s best full back in rugby league. Congrats Slater! As for talks of a Parramatta dynasty... ha ha. Well that’s laughable for obvious reasons. Just a gentle reminder, a dynasty is a succession of wins, can you at least get ONE premiership under your belts before you start making such outrageous jokes!I look forward to next year, particularly when our teams go head to head. Bulldogs ’10!!!

thanks sonny bill, one question for you. why do you bother pestering us on our "eels supporters site". i'm sure there is a dogs one out there somewhere for you to spend your time at.
i have never understood the fascination with "bagging" another club and their supporters. your constant reminders of our lack of success only proves perhaps that we are great supporters of "our" team. we could quite easily jump ship or follow another sport. but no we are there week in week out supporting our club.
i for one think the dogs in particular are one of the success stories of the year. coming from where they have been over the last few years to this year is a credit to the players and coaching staff at that club.
so princess in future how about you comment on "constructive facts". not your blatent attempts to stir the pot
Look, can I just say, going onto another team's message board and posting is not my cup of tea, but if Tamara feels the need to come and do so, I think we all just look foolish sledging through name calling and spelling mistakes!
Tamara has come and congratulated us on our effort last night, which is what we deserve. Parramatta did not choke last night - we were noble and valiant in defeat and gave it our absolute best shot. For a team who was going to finish last 4 months ago to have beaten the Bulldogs ;-), Dragons and Titans and be where we are is a credit to our team and our coach. The disappointment lies not in embarrassment or shame, but more in the fact that we lost a Grand Final and disappointment will always come with that. Further, to see Hindy, Caylo and Burty come so close again was heart wrenching.
Have to disagree with one point though and that is the derailing of the Hayne Train. While I will recognise that Jarryd did not have his best game last night, I think we have only started to see what he can produce. The Hayne Train will be ready for boarding in 2010 and Parramatta have a wonderful year to look forward to!
Congratulations boys on your season, you have much to be proud of.
P.S. On the Dynasty issue, I think we have definitely laid the foundations for a dynasty. We were beaten by the better side last night, but Parramatta is now a palce where players want to come and stay, where the legends are welcome in our club and in an environment which just has a really good vibe. For me, the dynasty has begun - we may not have won last night, but Parramatta achieved GREAT things this season. We will just pick up where we left off next year!!
P.P.S. Did anyone see any superheroes around yesterday?
Agree with you on a lot of things. I mentioned Hayne because there was some seriously sickening overexposure for him in the lead up to the GF, as if Eels were a 1 man team. Yesterday certainly wasn't his best game, having said that, I'd still pay him half a mill to play a season at the Bulldogs any time.
Yes you’re well placed to be a big threat next year, but I maintain talks of a Parramatta dynasty are very premature. After Dogs won 2004 even our players were talking about a dynasty, with arguably the best forward pack in league ever. The biggest issue with a single club dominating league is the salary cap, almost impossible to keep all or even most of the players as they increase in value with good form. Not to mention league is perhaps the most injury prone sport, which can often be the main reason for a team’s demise.
now thats better . this is actually a constructive comment using what you have seen at the dogs and your 100% correct. having a team make the gf is hard enough let alone 3 or 4 times in a row. credit has to go to melb having some of the best players around, in the most important positions, 1,4,6,7,9. quick backs and an honest forward pack and your in with a big shot.
in regards to hayne, i thought he did well yesterday. while there was no clear breaks, he admitted he tried to make it happen instead of letting it. no major mistakes i can recall.
There was overexposure on Hayne. Most defiintely. However, I think this more reflects the nature of sports today. As a code, Rugby League is struggling. We cannot generate the revenue or crowds that AFL does, refereeing and administration is causing angst amongst the clubs and supporters, and more importantly, many of the games 'best' this year (think Stewart, Watmough, Inglis), have been embroiled in scandals which have dealt hard blows to our code. Following Hayne's miraculous turnaround this year, the NRL desperately seeks to cling to a poster boy, which promotes the values and the image that rugby league seeks to have. Add to this the match up between him and Slater and the battle for the Australian test position and you get the overexposure of the week. :-)
I think the big point with the Dynasty only partle refers to us being a threat next year. We will have a great squad next year, but as everyone knows this does not mean anything. Sport is a game of injuries - we could loose Mateo or Hayne or Morts or Guru. Further, following the departure of unsung heroes like Kinga, Toddy and Big Joe, we will have a different squad next year, which one would hope, would be strengthened by Poore, Tahu and Shacks.
The point about the Dynasty is that Parramatta has a different feeling. Earier this year, legends like Ray Price and Guru Snr were not really welcome in our club. I imagine you would be disgusted were Hazem to feel unwelcome in Belmore. Now it is common to see them there after the game. Supporters are coming back to the club, rejoicing with a new coach and with a new administration. The pictures of the legends are back in the Leagues Club and the whole thing just feels different. This grass roots support is what a Dynasty is based on. Whether we win next year or come up short again, the Dynasty has started. Parramatta just feels different and our players want to be there and play for each other. It's about more than just a Premiereship. :-)
P.S. Again, with the sledges. Surely you can all do better than swear!
lol ok still don't agree with you about the dynasty, I maintain you have to win at least 3 consecutive grand finals to be able to claim that... but I love your passion for your club, love seeing intelligent women who know their sport!
And grids, I have no idea how Melbourne are able to sustain that level competitiveness. Have to give them credit for being the most professional club in the NRL.
I am quite happy to call it a day and agree to disagree. :-D Please note though, that I am a big softie and things like having happy players and a good feeling amongst the Eels supporters means almost as much to me as winning a Premiereship, which is why I pushed the Dynasty point. I recognise that most other people do not share such a 'rainbow, lollipops and happy times' approach. :-)
I also want to give credit to Melbourne. I despise them, especially Billy Slater and Greg Inglis (who I think is a blight on the sport), but to be in 4 consecutive Premiereships is an amazing feat.
And as for you Tamara, please continue to give it to people who feel the most appropriate way to illustrate their disapproval with your posts is by calling you ugly and stupid. None of which appear to be wattanted! :-) I enjoy conversing with those who can put a decent argument forth, so thank you!
