Hard to watch

That oa tough game to watch. Other than the first 20 mins you could be forgiven for thinking the whole parra side were backing up from origin. Zero go forward on most sets and rarely looked like scoring. The only thing that stopped the score blowing out was there solid online defence but even that folded at the end. Ado car for all his speed just needs to get the ball and run. He dances around and waits for the defence to come to him. Samrani has been solid but too slow for centre and has no aggression.

Lomax is doing the work of 3 backs in attack as the rest of them were getting driven back most of the time.

Hopgood has too many errors in his game and just needs to hold the ball and run.

All in all a very disappointing performance in a winnable game.

        • Agreed.

    • Yeah losing by 8 points to the defending Premiers!

  • We were fine. Chill out. We're losing more than we're winning. Without Cleary we would've won by 18+.

End to end for 80 mins we are not yet ready for, and we made a few borderline errors at wrong time (6 again before their second try, offside after Addo-Carr chase, the pass from Iongi to Samrani's head - All those corrected and we win).

We have 3-5 wins left in us for this year. But we're building so well and no one in the NRL would've beaten this Panthers side playing like this, maybe peak Melbourne.

    • Great analysis! Only 3 more wins and we are challenging for the spoon aha

    • Exactly, not all losses are the end of the world or because the club is a total shambles.

Penrith played a grinding game with a team experienced in that style.  The amount of tackles made and lack of stoppages in play show it was a high speed, high quality game which our young players haven't been exposed to.

It was a learning experience for our young players but still an improvement of what we have dished up earlier this year.  Maybe Moses could have tried to slow the game down by kicking for touch but even then you only get 15sec breather against 2 mins or so before the rule changes.  Maybe we need to fake an injury for a breather when needed.

Yes our attack isn't as crisp as it needs to be but the structure and different plays we put on in attack are so much better then the old bash and barge of years past.  Our centres are probably 1 of worse pairings in the comp which needs to be rectified but the difference in the game a quality 40/20 and more experienced side.

What I was impressed with was the scramble defence and it was only when fatigue hit that To'o scored untouched.  Add a quality player or 2 and the young players get experience we will win games like this next year

  • We need at least 3 forwards why dont they sign Junior Nsemba, he has a clause in his contract if he gets an offer from Nrl he can leave. And piss J'maine Hopgood off

  • I feel so sorry for Lomax. He busts his arse non stop and obviously has more passion to win for our club and fans than our other " stars ".  I'm actually very very worried we will be heading into 2026 with the squad we see today " maybe" with the edition of another clubs unwanted or second choice 5/8.  And before we know it Lomax will be hitting the market with plenty of offers from clubs with an opportunity for him not to be a loser every other week. It's not laughable to suggest Lomax is the best winger in the world at present . Throw him in a decent team and there's no debate.
