Greig and Brown named for New Zealand

Dylan Brown will partner Jahrome Hughes in the halves for New Zealand during the upcoming Pacific Championship.

Brown was the Kiwis' first choice five-eighth during their Rugby League World Cup campaign last year and will continue his representative career after a disappointing season with Parramatta.

Front row teammate Wiremu Greig is inline for his test debut after he was also named in the squad.

It's a reward for a player who has struggled with injury since his NRL debut but put together his best season to date, including forcing his way into the starting side in 2023.

Greig will be part of a much vaunted Kiwis forward pack alongside Moses Leota, James Fisher-Harris, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Isaiah Papali'i, Joseph Tapine and Briton Nikora.

  • How good is that fro Greig. Massive confidence boost.

    • Yep, it is a motivator that's for sure, that said he is now exposed and it will create interest, we have resigned him, haven't we?

      • Woody was recently re-signed until the end of 2026.

      • Yeah til 2026, though Souths and Melbourne lobbied for him hard.

    • Big fella deserves it. Hopefully the selection will help him stay fit and motivated playing along side big dogs like Fisher-Harris and Leota

  •  That's a damn fine forward pack.

    • Throw i Hughes and Brown in the halves and its gunna be a helluva of a Test match.

      • I have them as favourites to take it out.

Their better across the park than Australia.

  • Hope Brown stays away from the bars in NZ or wherever the test is held

  • This is great for both players. They can learn a lot from the calibre of players in that team.
