Future looking good. Hope we can keep all these young kids and continually recruiting/producing a line of FG players just like what the Panthers have achieved b
So how about signing a decent established prop instead of a "could be a 1st grader" prop.
We are the Eels, we can't attract quality players at their peak like some clubs so it's ageing stars on the decline looking for a last payday, or take a punt on youth. Ryles isnt looking for a quick fix he is putting systems in place so we can be competitive going forward.
For all the crap about Melbourne and roosters salary cap they have more debut players than most clubs. Sure they buy 1 or 2 quality players every couple years but the core of the squad were identified and developed from late teens. I just hope Ryles learnt a thing or 2 at those clubs about recruiting not just relying on talent alone and looking for personality traits that make good players great.
Well in the past we've managed to attract Moses Lomax RCG and alike I do wonder why we can't do it now.
All of which left their previous clubs in some controversy and needed a place to land. Who have we attracted that was simply a player on the open market ?
Moses left in controversy because he asked to be released to us. Lomax as well, asked to be released to join us. Tallyn Da Silva was very much on the open market as there were what, 6 teams at one point linked to him?
