      • Sorry I was referring to cows having the high completions, a team with deardon drinky Nanai JT Robson and Hess at almost career best form, with high completions, incredible win

        • You did nothing wrong mate. I am agreeing with your comment. Just adding that cowboys have not completed so well in a long time. They came to play. Their poor completion rate and errors has been a big reason in their losses. Not having Derby today really helped them for that lol. Bloke guaranteed to drop 3 bombs and handing errors a game

I am actually the blind person. I somehow missed that you mentioned the completion rate in your first comment lol. My bad

  • I think you nailed it Eli.

    3. Luca Moretti: hasn't he absolutely smashed it this year. He's turning into a fast and tough as nails prop that plays some great footy. Moretti, Williams, and Tuivaiti will be a quality front row rotation.

    2. Ryley Smith: This kid is a gun. Best hooker we've had in years, I rate him better than Mahoney already. His passing and defence is supurb and he doesn't stop all game. He's fast becoming a cult hero with the fans.

    1. JAC: A standout performance on Indigenous Day with two slick tries and that chase down to stop the Cowboys intercept (both him and Ryley!). Let's not talk about that last play of his though.

Moses was close but, a try assist, field goal, couple of line breaks and a threat every time he had the ball in his hands. Lucky the video ref called obstruction in that last play, I'm really not a fan of diving.

    • I'm waiting for the fox to get in the clear off some of those loose balls but cowboys kept grabbing him just as he was about to fly away 😂

  • 3 - Moretti, bent the line with his leg speed and ran good angles

2 - Smith, line speed enthusiast, crisp passing and started to run a bit more

1 - JAC, made the most of his opportunities with so much attack directed to the other wing

Credit to Doorey for improving like he has, Walker for his zest when coming on and Hopgood for cleaning up the middle.

3Middles facing the Hess-Lolo Locomotive: Smith, the tireless Energizer Bunny (second highest tackler 45, was everywhere), Moretti The Italian Bulldozer, Hard Yakka Hopgood (46 tackles highest, 16 hit-ups the highest, 100% tackle efficiency, most run metres of forwards along with Walker)

2—Brains Trust: Moses/Walker (game management, steadying the ship, Walker second most metres in pack, Ryles brought him back on for short second stint to help close the game)

1-Back Three: Lomax The UFC Wrestling Tank is like another prop with wheels and giant mitts, tried hard without reward (second highest run metre, almost 150m, 22 runs most in the team, more than any of our forwards, 3 offloads), The Fox (put in all night, a double), Little Pap The Little Goer (almost 200m, 1 try assist, 1 line break assist, 3 tackle busts, made a mistake but was under pressure all night)

Special mention: Hawkins improvement award, running more directly (3 tackle busts, 1 try assist, 1 line break assist, had slightly more ball than Moses and passed it almost double, but did miss 6 tackles).

For the Cows, I thought Clifford, their bookends Lolo-Hess  (350m total) were outstanding. Drinky tried hard all night too. Cows put in. Best they've been in a while.

    • Good summary Hoey, glad to see Hopgood get some recognition he has turned the corner!

pS to the guy that said not Hopgood at hooker, he is a prop....Please understand that Hopgood would play the same in either position, hooker to him is the same middle as a prop. Where our friend misses the point is that whoever is playing lock may offer a difference. Hopgood's game doesn't change!!

      • Thanks, Pop. Hoppy. 65mins. Most run metres in pack. Top tackler, 46. 0 misses. 100% efficiency.

Since he's moved to prop, since R20, I feel his game has been simplified — not worrying about being a link man at lock. For now, that's the best solution imo.

The Italian Tank, Moretti, can take the heat of the first 20 or so at lock, before Walker , our best middle link man does his thing.

  • 3: R Smith

    2: J Hopgood

    1: L Moretti

  • 3. Jack Williams (forget the kick)

    2. Joash

    1. Mitch

"Love to see Lomax go away in the off season and find a couple of more yards of pace.
JaC did a lot of speed work with Roger Fabri who also works with Bronson Xerri and Jarryd Hayne way back when.
Love to see Lomax with some more speed next season."

"100% agree.  The Momax experiment is kinda done teams are screening his runs.. Hes burning himself for no result. They should stick to the red zone kicks like what Munster does to Coates at Melbourne....its like a cheat code on a computer game they…"
