    • You were going alright mate until you mentioned Brooks. I hope I can sleep now.

    • Alternatively we'd try a cheeky swap with Lomax for retention of Pezet.
      Sign Garner and Bostock.

    • Talakai has made a living toppling over Harper, which is not hard to do. He is not that good. Talakai for Lomax is not a fair swap. If Talakai and another player? Yeah i'd do that.

Thing with Pezet is he is a conservative Half, like Moses. Does our offense need a running 6? Pezet could work out as a full-time 6 but have yet to see him in that role.

Bostock won't be released but there are a few good ones at Dolphins. Tevita Naufahu is a talent and wont get a run.

You said Pryor, do you mean Saxon Pryke? If so yeah i don't think he makes it. Reminds me of Ky Rodwell, absolute worker and that is it.

      • Yes Pryke, auto correct got me there.

I think Talakai is quality can play Middle or Edge, can cover centre although that's less important now.

There is just no point holding out for the star everyone thinks we should get in return for Lomax, it just won't happen like for like. And that's ok, all we want is someone who can come in, help us win and ideally on an underpriced salary.

Talakai, Wong, these types of guys are who we should take, who we should expect. We will improve them anyway and save money which was the point of moving Lomax on

Tait up there is good and will be ready to start playing first grade in 2027, Nafahu is a player I'd take but I don't think he is due an upgrade and extension like Bostock is. That's the way I see it, get the one they can't keep but would like to.

        • Hey i would not have any issues with Bostock if he signed, just don't think they would let him go. They would let Isaako go before him.

Talakai and another decent player is fair value for Lomax. But gettin a 29 year old Talakai, whose defence is either mid to low 80's in effeciency and is more of an impact player for Lomax is not a good trade. If it was like Talakai and say Stonestreet, then that is not a bad trade. But straight swap?

Not saying like for like, Howarth wouldn't be like for like but you are getting one hell of a player. Say Lomax is a 95 overall, getting a 87 overall in a trade is a good deal. But a 78 overall? Bad trade. Considering i would not start Talakai. If we were going to get someone like Talakai why not just take Kamikamica from Melbourne? Or the rumour of Joe Chan?

Siua Wong is different to Talakai. He is younger, better and will start. He would be a decent trade as he can develop further. You are right, a great player is fine to trade for Lomax. Hell if going with Cronulla i would take Hazelton or Kaufusi even. Not world beaters but starting quality.

Naufahu just extended til 2027 but he is at this stage 2nd in line to injuries, suspension or Origin getting him a chance.

      • Question LB, what would you offer Bostock if he came to you right now seeking an extension and upgrade?

  • Don't like loosing Russell. He was a punching bag now he's travelling to elite

    • Prior to Ryles coaching Russell was bog average in my opinion. Not sure how he will go under coaching of Maninga

    • I can recall some time ago an entire blog dedicated to saying how shit Russell is and that he isn't nrl standard. Look at him now, I said the exact same thing after he signed with Perth that he is the one player who would have been nice to hang on to.

That's the other thing that is concerning is the moment there is a weakness in our squad (even a perceived weakness) the first thing we should do is go to market to address it. No thought of allowing our coaching staff to improve the players we've already got and who's coming through.

    • Good to see some Russell love, but it was only a trial game against an ordinary Cronulla reserve grade side. Russell probably had the most first-grade experience of anyone out there. Let's see how the next six months pan out.
