Game Day Experience

I know someone posted on here a while ago asking for feedback etc etc. I thought they did an excellent job yesterday and I'm so glad they dropped that god awful techno version of enter sandman. The atmosphere yesterday was really good. I love how Enter Sandman is now our run on song. But a couple of things I'd like them to change.

  • It is dead quiet except for the boos when the opposition run on. Enter Sandman shouldn't start until after the away team runs on
  • Parramatta doesn't run on until the drop hits
  • The supporters need to f_ing lift. Please see how they do it at Virginia Tech

  • I agree, I thought they did a really good job!

  • I'll pass the feedback on.

Regarding Enter Sandman. It is indeed inspired by Virginia Tech, although the song choice itself was from the players. There is also a timing thing regarding the start of the song. Basically its start is the signal for the side to get ready to run out. The club is working really hard to enhance that game day with all the flags and the big Eels banner in the middle of the field.

In my discussions regarding this it was all understood it may take a minute for fans to get the hang of what's going on given it's fairly new.

    • The flag in the middle was a wonderful touch.

    • It was awesome. A few timing tweaks with the song it'll be even better. I hope the fans get it and start rocking the F outta that stadium. Shame we didn't get 30,000 yesterday. Was a beautiful Sunday afternoon

  • Yeah even though it was hot, the pyrotechnics were a nice touch to atmosphere. They had the smoke but not enough to cover viewing into the game, it was gone by kick-off.

The ground announcer struggled a little bit but haha. Wrong names, mispronounce names and the I say Parra you say Matta haha

  • Definitely a much improved game day experience. The flags handed out at the gates were a great touch and looked awesome when everyone was waving the pre game. The gound announcer seemed to play a larger role as well, without overdoing things, which was great. I agree, if the crowd can buy into the Enter Sandman thing more it will really top things off, but overall was much improved over previous years.

    • I thought the ground announcer got the vibe pretty well. And he was full of passion. It didn't come off like a TV journo or MC simply chalking up a weekend gig.
