Game Day Blog - Eels vs Panthers

Tonight we will see the team play the final regular season game leading into the finals. Coming off an impressive win last week vs the Storm, BA has picked a very different team with a few boys making their debut whilst resting most of our big name players.

There has been a lot of coverage and controversy regarding resting so many at once, but I'm all for it.There are several players taking the field tonight that I have never seen play, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they go against a full strength, cometition heavy weight in the Panthers.

This will be a milestone for BA who coaches his 200th game for the Eels and I hope this 'trial team' can do him proud.

On a side note, how good is it to see Mythy Stuart's Raiders gone for the season!?

So, who wins and by what margin?

MOM?

GO YOU EELS!!!

    • Penrith to win 42 -6 after leading 14 - 0 half time.  Our man of the match will be Jake Arthur . Thanks for your weekly blogs  Grunter , again regularly through the whole of the season.......  This week no one can be blamed or accused of being disloyal , or a unicorn , or showing plain lack of confidence with their predictions . For me it's only my second pick all season against the Eels . The only other time was last week and Parra won .

  • I’m all for resting and giving those injury niggles a chance to rest too. whole new comp next week.

if we can keep the score down to under 20 or 30 against a full strength top side like Penrith -   that would be a win for me... so many of ours have played so little all year at all, I’m just hoping we can score a try or two even better.

Really looking  forward to seeing Hayne Perham play FB.

not expecting too much but really looking forward to it...no pressure:)

Haha yep no finals for you - on your bike Fuuzball devil

    • Hard match for Perham to show his skills when the Panthers are at full strength and eels playing with reserve grade players. I guess we can look for his tackle breaking ability through his foot work and his running. Still wont be as dangerous because Panthers know they can focus on him more considering the players aorund Perham are not very threatening.

      • Yeah agree with that EA it'll be good to just look for little signs still though. So many of the poor buggers haven't played for so long against this hot side.

Also hope it doesn't dampen their confidence too much and so long they aim for just their best and they  that take something from it...a try or two would be real nice

be interesting to see how JA aims up and this is just the sort of game his old man should have only played him in - no pressure

        • exactly.

    • 😔 Just hope they can score one or two and Lussick comes off unscathed - that’d be a win for me.

  • Good luck to the debutantes. Eels by 11

  • Panthers 40 - 10.

Eels MOM Carty. Game MOM Luai.
