Forward Pack Ratings

I was listening to Scott Sattler and Matt Rogers tonight, who rated their top eight forward packs on paper for next year. Neither of them rated our pack in the top eight. They even made specific mention of RCG now at the Titans. Yes, he is gone, get over it as I will be told and so be it. Our forwards were imo our strength for the past four of five years. Yes, they could both be proven wrong and I hope they are , but for our pack to not to be rated in the top 8 by two experienced subject matter experts is worrying.  I don't perceive bias from either of these guys. I hope this stuff motivates the forward pack to prove them all wrong.  The modern game needs impact forwards and a pack that endlessly hunts in defence. I always rated our pack and was surprised to see them not even mentioned in the top eight packs.

  • 🤣😂 "experienced subject matter experts" 😂🤣

  • We finished second last this past season - you could say we didn't have a top 8 forward pack then either. You can see where the club is going with this team now though, and the players they have brought in have been in an attempt to modernise the squad. We do still have some very good forwards on paper, but Ryles needs to extract the best out of them consistently.

I don't take much notice of what the "experts" say, but we'll see what transpires this coming season and next.

  • our forwards weren't the best last year but with our backs making 6m or less per carry they were always  exhausted and looked better from set starts I.e. penalties.

Put any of our forwards in penriths pack and they'll look better

    • 100%   the weakest part of our pack the last couple of years were our back 3.

  • We already paid a price for being to top-heavy in the forwards the last 2 season we were gargage mobile fit packs are the way with the concussion rules and sin bins rules in place

  • Sounds about right. We won 7 games last year and weve lost RCG. Its up to the pack to get their act together and improve under Ryles.

A lot of work to get our pack into the top 8 I would think.
